On Facebook, nostalgia pages, such as 'Let's Revisit The Swinging 1960's, are very popular. Easy to see why; they are a good idea, enabling people to share memories of the past. Unfortunately, they also provide an excuse for trolls to make disparaging and mindless comments, usually directed at celebrities of the day. These trolls ( whom I suspect weren't actually around in the 1960's or 1970's ) think they are being incredibly clever and witty with their rude remarks. The subject of 'Love Thy Neighbour' comes up at least once a week, and the discussions follow the same tired pattern. Anyone who admits to enjoying the series at the time is branded a racist. It is high time the Administrators got a grip, and removed the offending comments and the windbags who make them.
The start of Season 3. It is the time of the Inter-Flight competition which, traditionally, 'C' Flight has never ever managed to win. Flight-Lieutenant Grant promises Marsh promotion to Sergeant if the 'erks' manage to win that coveted shield. Marsh tells the lads that Grant is dying, and they make an effort at physical exercise, shooting etc. The shield is theirs. But then Marsh confesses he has told them a pack of 'fibs'.
An okay episode, featuring the late Don 'Bulman' Henderson as 'Flight-Sergeant Tidy', who hates Marsh as soon as he steps into the Mess and breaks his nose. This turns out to be a good thing, as Marsh cannot then smell the petrol that Leckie has sloshed all over the 'erks' hut.
Funniest moment - Matthew trying to take a photo of his friends. When the flash doesn't go off, he inspects the camera, only for it to go off, nearly blinding him!
Things To Look Out For - in the mess, when Jakey angrily knocks over the shield, he accidentally knocks Matthew's glass of orangeade into his lap!
