A Phineas & Ferb Classic
This is one of the series' most popular episodes...and for a very good reason. It features 2 heartwarming, music-filled, funny storylines that provide good characterization even for characters that were barely onscreen.
For the Doofenshmirtz-Perry plot, Heinz is planning for Vanessa's birthday and asks Perry's assistance. This shows how much a dad loves his daughter by asking his own enemy to help him. It does prove that not every father-daughter relationship in animation has to be like Meg and Peter from "Family Guy" or has to be forced/shoehorned in just so a series could show a loving family.
For the characters that were barely on screen, Isabella, the rest of the Firseside Girls, Buford and Baljeet all help build the stage for Love Handel's concert. In their case, Phineas and Ferb didn't even ask for their help until later. This, for me, just shows how true friendship can be (or, in Isabella's case, friendship and crush/love). What they did, even for their very small screen presence, made me love them even more. (Except Buford, I didn't really start to like him until the "Voyage to the Bottom of Buford" episode)
For the main story, the duo along with Candace help their dad plan for their wedding anniversary. This scenario proves we don't really need to know who Ferbs' real mom or Candace and Phineas' real dad is. They are in a loving family and that's all that matters. This main story gives us Love Handel, three of the series' best singers and recurring characters. While there were lesser jokes in this story, it is replaced by fantastic songs with 'Fabulous,' 'Music Makes Us Better' and 'Ain't Got Rhythm' being my favorites. As for the couple, this is the first episode (except for the credits of "It's About Time") to show their love for each other. You know and understand why they are in love. You are touched by their lovestory and are happy with how the episode ends.
This really is one of Phineas and Ferb's best and most heartwarming adventures!
