New Possibilities

Warning: Spoilers
We start the episode with Lee being discharged from the infirmary. He is sent home to rest and recover. Jesse is still feeling guilty about the accident and Clara tries to cheer him up. Lee tells Jesse that he doesn't blame him at all for what happened and he needs to let his guilt go.

Elizabeth confront Nathan about his bad attitude towards her during the wind storm. She hints to him that she knows he is jealous and that Lucas is very straightforward with her so he should be too.

Lucas goes to Gowen and asks for the ledgers but he says he's not ready to give them over. Later on, Elizabeth finds out that there is a situation with Lucas and Gowen and approaches Gowen about what is going on. He informs her that he really messed up and is trying to fix what he caused. He ends up giving the ledgers over to Lucas.

Lee tells Rosemary that he wants to live his life with no regrets and tells her that he has an estranged sister. With the help of Fiona, they track her down and Lee gives her a call. At first she hangs up, but he eventually calls back and tells her that he wants to see her and she says she will think about it.

Lucas tells Elizabeth that he sent some of her chapters to his mom and that she really thinks Elizabeth should send them to a publisher. Elizabeth feels betrayed but Lucas ends up apologizing. She tells him that she wants to send her book to a publisher after all.

Nathan makes an arrest at a train station and locks the man up. A mysterious woman witnesses this and ends up in Hope Valley.

Fiona gets a call that she is being transferred to another town.

Opal is afraid to play outside because of the chaos from the windstorm. Luckily, Elizabeth is a great teacher and helps her overcome her fear.

We end the episode with Nathan arriving at Elizabeth's door and apologizes for his overreaction during the wind storm and that he just wants her to be safe because she matters to him.

This is a pretty decent episode. Nothing spectacular happens just a whole lot of mystery. The season finale should tie up a lot of these loose ends!

Boring

I have struggled through this season from one boring episode and another. The whole romantic triangle is a joke. They are trying to hard to force things this season rather than let them happen naturally. With the high rating the series is getting means it is living off its past glory. The new constable is terrible.

Could Elizabeth Have Been Any Worse in This One?

Warning: Spoilers
While I like the show and I like most of the characters, Elizabeth is the one character I could do without most of the time. It's very hard to like her past the constant self-doubt and over-reacting to every little thing, especially since literally everyone loves her and she can do no wrong. The way she pitched a fit in this episode that Lucas shared her writing with his publisher mother, who absolutely loved it, was beyond belief. I doubt any real writer watching felt any sympathy with her at all. Honestly, her mood swings really drag down the series and I wish they'd settle the "aspiring author" arch and be done with it. It and the love triangle are the worst aspects of Elizabeth's character. Also, Nathan is the worst constable.
