This is the first snow episode of season 2. Donald and Douglas are back and this time they improve their work. They rescue Henry from a snowdrift which is very heroic of them. Henry and the other engines soon discover that Donald and Douglas are on the brink of being sent away from Sodor. The other engines sympathize with them as do I. I agree with Gordon and James when they say that a broken signalbox and The Spiteful Break Van is a ridiculous reason to validate the decision for Donald and Douglas to stay on Sodor. James is right, good riddance to that Break Van indeed. I like Edward's solution. Gordon proposes that Percy should speak to Sir Topham Hatt about the situation. Well done Percy for being brave. Welcome to Sodor Donald and Douglas. I find it odd that Thomas and Toby are the only two railway engines that don't appear in this episode. The possibility that Thomas didn't appear in this episode is because he's still cross with Douglas for misplacing his special coach but that's my personal assumption. However, there's this NWR Tales (A YouTube fan made Thomas Series) episode from season 12 where Thomas was rude to Douglas for the missing coach incident despite that it was an accident. But let's focus on this 📺 Series episode. The ending was splendid as Donald and Douglas have become Sodor engines for their hard work. Well done Donald and Douglas and welcome to Sodor.

Classic Thomas. There are Better Episodes

Warning: Spoilers
I think my only problem with this episode would be its pacing. It is a bit slow, and not much really happens, but nonetheless, the ending is so wholesome when the twins learn they get to stay and everyone celebrates with them. I also love that the characters worked together to keep Donald and Douglas on the railway. It really shows how tightly knit these characters are. Also find this episode unique since there is a clear absence of Thomas himself, which is very rare imo. It's nice to see these other characters taking the spotlight instead. To me, there are better episodes, but this is still classic.
