Must-see for countries with bad obstetrics help
I would recommend this to people afraid of the awful childbirth care. The film contains a couple of obstetric abuse stories, interviews with Danish midwives and a well-known American doula and follows several birthes in different countries. The women are filmed and represented with great respect and compassion. Although the film starts with the trigger warning it doesn't contain any graphic footage and reveals the subject quite gracefully and delicately (I mean I read a much more shocking personal accounts on the childbirth in my country). It was also surprising for me to know that obstetric violence is a common problem for other countries. There is no fake glamourizing of the motherhood but the film finally gives a sense of hope and healthy childbirth experience showing true connection between a woman and her newborn baby which is touching in the realistic and elegant way. I found this film informative, supportive and empowering. Hope Netflix or any other international VOD service will distribute it for more people to see.
