Sex & Nudity

  • While practicing stealth, a teen boy accidentally walks in on a teen girl (his partner) bathing, with her buttocks briefly seen.
  • A teen boy accidentally breaks in on a woman bathing and accidentally puts his head between her breasts. No nudity is seen, but the boy seems comically aroused by this.
  • In the theme song of the first season there is a nude woman shown however she is facing away from the screen with an arm blocking nipples from being seen, as well as showing her buttocks.
  • When characters turn into weapons they are nude but nothing is shown from shoulders down.
  • Blair the cat has a human form and is frequently shown in skimpy outfits.
  • Blair the cat in her human form tries to get soul's attention by wearing a bikini and presses her breasts into his face, Soul then gets a nosebleed.
  • In episode 12 blair is shown in a towel. and asks the boys if one them would like join to her in her bath and seductively drops her towel. no nudity is shown however.
  • Although no private parts are shown in the series, there is some implied nudity and many of the female characters are drawn with exaggerated large busts and boys are constantly getting nosebleeds, which is an anime convention that infers sexual arousal.
  • Moderate Sexual Innuendo and Fan Service Throughout of this Series..
  • Death the kid grope's patty and liz's breasts and gets mad that they are not symmetrical.

Violence & Gore

  • A few scenes later in the show have characters lying in pools of blood, characters getting gashes that show blood through their clothes, etc.
  • While a lots of fantasy violence can be cartoonish and silly throughout the series with some gore. There is also a fair amount of slapstick fighting between the main characters.
  • There is a lot of violence, usually in the form of brief, over-the-top and comical attacks or intense fight scenes
  • The opening scene in the first episode shows a girl being cornered by a Kishin Egg ( an enemy not yet a full Kishin), the Kishin Egg cuts her open ( seen by shadows, the real act is not shown), and is seen next to her corpse shortly afterwards ( slightly obscured by a building but a puddle of blood is still visible). The same Kishin Egg starts chasing another girl and is about to kill her, but he is interrupted.

Profanity

  • Occasional uses of "damn", "hell", "bastard" and "ass" in english dub
  • ENGLISH SUBTITLES: Sh*t is used often, f-word little to none, but of course, depends on the translator.
  • ENGLISH DUB: Damn, screw you, and ass variations are the most common offensive words in the English dub.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some scenes are set in bars.
  • Stein is a chain smoker.
  • Spirit is an alcoholic.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Despite being a horror action anime, the horror tends to come mostly from the fight scenes, and many scenes are more strange than frightening. However, the series tends to be more frightening every season.
  • Some fights can be intense and dark.
  • Crona's disturbing personality in earlier episodes may be unsettling for some viewers.
  • In one of the final episodes, Maka is in extreme pain and releases several fairly terrifying screams as an antagonist continues to crush her chest.

Violence & Gore

  • A character has 'Black Blood' in his body, whenever he/she bleeds he can harden the blood outside to stab other characters. Sometimes a blood rejection occurs and several black spikes start protruding out his body in a painful matter. Afterwards he/she is seen fine. This only happens once.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many characters later on get so consumed by anger/madness (ex: a character's friend supposedly dies) so much that they lose control of themselves.
