- Four Days Before Halloween
Tina Reynolds is at Aunt Mildred's home, talking on the phone to her mother about her Mildred's funeral. As they argue about Tina moving in with her mother, with Tina refusing, the lights go out. Tina points out that Mildred left the house to her, and her mother cuts the connection. After Tina goes to bed, she jerks awake as a door in the house slams. She turns on a flashlight and hears doorsteps in the floor above, and a wind blows through the room. Mist fills the room, and the nearby candles light up by themselves. "You did this!" appears in blood-red letters on the mirror, and Tina screams and runs out. She knocks one of the candles over, setting the bedsheets on fire, and runs out to the street where she's hit by a passing car. Parker sis nearby, goes over to Tina, and tells the driver to call 911. As people gather, Tina gasps out that she came back two men, Lyle and Deke Herbert, walk away and the older one says that Tina is a problem. The younger one, Lyle, wonders what they're going to do now.
Halloween Day
Breana, wearing a skeleton costume, is wearing a skull costume and decorating the bar for the holiday. Sophie comes in with a mummy dummy, and asks Breana why it's by the front door. Breana points out that Sophie said she could decorate, but Sophie didn't anticipate her going overboard. in response, Breana notes that Christina Killian Santoro is leading the Halloween parade the night, and she's a politician who goes after crooked polluters and other criminals, and Breana read that Christina loves Halloween and wants to impress her. Sophie tells Breana to take it all down and she can decorate the attic.
Parker comes in with Tina on crutches, and Tina sits down with them and tells them what happened. She says that the insurance company accused her of setting the fire herself for the payout, The women offer Tina their spare bedroom, and Breana takes Tina there. Sophie believes Tina's story but tells Parker they can't let guests stay there. Harry and Eliot are in Brunei helping Hardison with an extradition, and they both agree they're not committing crime, although they obviously are. Parker admits that she's afraid of ghosts, and figures they have to help Tina.
Parker and Breana go to the house and search the house, posing as arson investigators. As Breana finds the guestbook from Mildred's funeral, Officer Stuart comes in and tells them that no one is allowed in. Parker bluffs Stuart and he leaves, and after he leaves she finds a hidden speaker and takes it back to the bar to show Tina. They also find projectors that projected the mist and writing. Tina refuses to say why Mildred would blame her for her death, and hobbles off. Parker figures that they just convinced Tina more that she's haunted by showing her evidence that she isn't, and they have to plant clues so Tina figures out for herself the "haunting" is fake.
Parker goes through the guest book, looking for anyone who might have come in to plant the equipment. She spots Lyle and Deke as strangers, and Sophie calls the insurance company and confirms they want absolute proof Tina didn't set the fire. They're from New Jersey, and Sophie figures that it's a real estate scam. The Revenant Realty company they're with is out of New Jersey, and Lyle owns the company and after his brother's death, his nephew Lyle put his design degree plans on hold to help Lyle. Parker figures they need to show Tina who the Herberts really are, and Sophie says that they'll turn the bar into the perfect mark for the Herberts and then Tina will see them at work.
Later, Parker finds Tina packing. Parker explains that there are people that take advantage of the gullible and weak-willed. Tina talks about why she holds herself responsible for Mildred's death, and it was her fault Mildred died. Parker convinces Tina to stay one more day and has Tina tell her what the Herberts did, so they can know what to expect.
The Herberts arrive late and Sophie, playing the grieving widow, greets them. Deke admits he used to be a designer, much to Lyle's irritation. Lyle has a cover story for how he knew the dead man, "Big Daddy", Deke goes off to put away the flowers and tamper with the breaker box. and Breana opens the locked lid for him via remote. He flickers the lights right on cue. Lyle suggests that it might be a sign from Big Daddy, and Deke comes back. Sophie says that Big Daddy died there in a fall, and the Herberts suggest she might sell the place, and they'd be interested in buying. Sophie says she'll stay unless Big Daddy tells her otherwise, and then escorts them out.
As they walk away down the street, Lyle tells Deke that it's the perfect setup for their con. Deke figures that it was too perfect, and his uncle tells him to focus. Lyle calls a man and tells him that they have another place and they'll have it cleared out by that night. The man, the Wraith, looks over his table of guns.
Sophie and the others "se the scene", figuring the Herberts are in a hurry because they bought Sophie's story so easily. Breana has set up the cameras so Tina can see everything, and put the monitors in her guest room. After night falls, the Herberts sneak in and Breana turns on the lights, startling them. Sophie loudly says on the phone that she's going up to her room for a nap, and Lyle says that they have to get thing done fast.
Breana shocks and drops paintings on the Herberts via remote control, then runs off to do the "big finish", with Parker and Tina following her. Meanwhile, Sophie confronts the Herberts and says that they're trespassing,. Wraith and his spotter Hamilton come in and Wraith wonders why Sophie is there. The Herberts grab Sophie, and Wraith draws a knife on Sophie but tells the Herberts to kill her. Parker, watching with Tina, recognizes Wraith as a notorious hitman and tells the others via the comms.
The Herberts tie up Sophie, and Deke suggests to Wraith that Sophie harmless and they let her go. Wraith says that they're his problem if they want to let Sophie go, and Hamilton shows him a podcast of Santoro and the parade approaching. Lyle takes the hint and tells Wraith that they'll take care of Sophie. Breana see the podcast and realizes that Santoro is Wraith's target, and the New Jersey Mob sent small-timers like the Herberts in to secure houses along the parade route. The parade will pass the bar in ten minutes,
Parker and Tina go up to Tina's room on the third floor and Parker tells Tina that she's going out the window.
Lyle tells Deke that he didn't sign up to kill anyone, and Sophie asks him what he wants to do. The younger man says that he only signed up to drive people out of their homes. When Lyle talks about their scam, Wraith overhears him and tells him that people shouldn't mess with the afterlife. He insists that the spirits are real. He says that he didn't cause people's death, and is just a weapon. Sophie overhears him and tells Breana that she has an idea. Breana reports that she has access to all the "haunting" equipment that she set up as well as the Herberts.
Wraith sends Hamilton up to the third floor to find a good line of sight, and Sophie warns Parker. Hamilton comes in and Parker fights him, and then tasers him unconscious. Breana turns on the speakers, and Sophie tells Wraith that it's the house voicing its opinion.
Parker lowers Tina down on a rope, and Breana has her start on the fog projector. Meanwhile, Sophie goes over Wraith's victims from Breana's briefing earlier, and how the ghosts aren't happy with Wraith's presence there. He threatens her with a knife when she keeps talking, and she reminds him that he thinks he doesn't cause the deaths of others. Wraith tells Lyle to kill Sophie, and when Lyle tries to put Wraith off, Wraith gives Deke the knife, tells him to watch Sophie, and drags Lyle off with him. Sophie screams at Deke to put the knife down, and when Wraith and Lyle run back, they find Sophie with her throat cut.
The parade approaches and Wraith tells the guilt-ridden Deke that it's time. Parker sets up the speakers and Breana warns her that Wraith is heading her way. Parker hides in the rafters as Wraith comes in, and he sets up to shoot Santoro. The voices whisper to Wraith and the fog spreads through the room,
Lyle tells Deke that they should leave and let Wraith take the blame. The two men go to get their equipment and hear the voices, and when they try to run, a crate slides over and blocks their path.
The spirits of Wraith's victims appear to him in the mist, thanks to Breana's computerized animations. Earlier, Sophie convinced Deke to help them in return for getting him back into design school. When Deke agreed, Breana supplied fake blood packs so they could fake Sophie's "death". Breana took photos of the "dead" Sophie, and animated it into a "spirit" which Parker helps project to confront Wraith. Wraith panics and runs into a cabinet, knocking Hamilton out of it. Hamilton is tied up in a sheet, and Wraith further panics. As Wraith run downstairs, Parker drops down and tasers Hamilton unconscious again.
Wraith tells the Herberts that they have to get out, and Breana turns up the "voices". A skeleton pulls Deke out of the room, and Breana hits Wraith and Lyle with all of the effects. They panic and run out, where Tina is waiting with the police she summoned. The two men are glad to confess as long as the police get them away from the ghosts.
Parker and Sophie escort Deke out, Parker having played the skeleton. He's glad he has a chance to go out of the family business and go back to school, Later, the woman gather and Breana sends the footage to Tina's insurance company to convince them the fire was an accident. Tina figures she'll rebuild her aunt's property, and her aunt would have wanted her to. Parker gives Tina Mildred's cane that they found in the house, and they all share a toast to neighbors.
Harry and Eliot return the next day, and the women tell them what happened. The women say that they went trick-or-treating but Parker refuses to share her candy. A door opens on its own, and Harry figures the women are messing with him. Voices start whispering, and the women put on skeleton masks and reach for Harry and Eliot.
