The Unwellness Job

Warning: Spoilers
This was a great role for Brianna Brown to play, and the crypto dude was such a villain that you wanted to see his downfall. This was Leverage: Redemption getting back on track after a few underwhelming episodes.

Good story, with a caveat.

Warning: Spoilers
Did a pretty good job explaining and using Bitcoin as a plot point up until the end, where it tried to get a bit preachy about gold and currency vs. Crypto, thereby 100% bungling the conceptualization of blockchain decentralization, meaning the twists would, in reality, have been null and void. Ohhh well.

Beware Snakeoil-Peddling Wellness Gurus
jo-0857317 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was a fun episode dealing with a serious subject: "Wellness Gurus" who tout magical elixirs and supernatural products as "food supplements" to avoid the strict oversight the Food and Drug Administration enforces on drugs. Although there are many healthful food supplements out there, none of those are being pushed by our snakeoil (or bee venom) peddler. Sophie beats the fake guru at her own game, taking her down - and taking $40 million in bitcoin "money" from a money-laundering scoundrel in the process. I liked Sophie in this episode; she seemed so playful while out-calculating the primary mark and expanding the con to take down the money-launderer as well. I thought the guest stars were great - realistically evil, each with their own justifications for their actions. This is the kind of "con-based" #LeverageRedemption show I love.

Eye opener

The writers did a fabulous job of integrating the new complex subjects and issues of todays society and worries into these new episodes. These subjects and plots seem highly likely in todays crazy high tech world that makes you wonder about peoples motives. Perfect amount of well places remarks, and looks by the team, add fun and levity and laughter while keeping you edge of the seat. Thanks writers and actors! You are writing stories that people worry about today!
