This documentary is typical of the eco-disaster propaganda that has been produced for several decades now. The first two-thirds of the show is somewhat interesting as they simply describe the different ways in which oil is now obtained. However, the last third of the show is non-stop doomsayers talking about how the world's going to end because we can't stop our addiction to oil and haven't figured out that we should be using "sustainable" energy sources.
This message seems particularly ridiculous now that: 1) huge amounts of new oil continue to become available and 2) the "sustainable" sources of energy, namely wind turbines, solar panels, and ethanol have been shown to be a joke.
Given the environmental movement's mindset in the year that this documentary was made (2007) it's not surprising that it was produced but it is surprising that six years later, after the assumptions and predictions of the "experts" have been shown to be so far off the mark, that this documentary is still being shown on TV.
