I'm rating this highly because I love where this show is going - amping up the drama far beyond anything we saw in season 1.
However the writing was flawed in this way: in order to get to the plot twist of having Dennis attack the protestors (and no doubt get the mosque in really hot water for apparently "radicalizing" some innocent white guy like that), the writers had to make Ramy stupider and more naive than he should be.
Dennis told him outright that he's a dangerous person to have around. At minimum, if Ramy was really determined to help him, he should have been honest with the sheik, who would have been sympathetic about helping him, but not in a way that would put the mosque community at risk.
