The 15th series of The Great British Menu comes to an end with the grand banquet.
The theme this year is celebrating children's literature and the banquet took place in in Exeter College, Oxford.
For the various winning chefs the fun is cooking their meals and hoping nothing goes wrong. Niall Keating the winner of the fish course had to pop into a nearby Michelin starred restaurant as the machine he needed had broken down.
The weather was lousy which delayed the guests. They ranged from school kids, family of the chefs and writers such as Jacqueline Wilson and Anthony Horowitz.
Alex Greene from Belfast was cooking two courses. Tom Barnes from the North West got to cook the main dish.
I did think the Champions of Champion prize is superfluous. I rather the chefs concentrated on preparing their meals.
This was the climax of another enjoyable series, this time Susan Calman joined as the main on screen presenter.
