Regular Found Footage
marigenbeltran14 July 2020
I have seen many found footage movies so I can say this isn't the best nor the worst I've seen. I wish I could say something good about the dialogue but it was really repetitive, the male character kept trying to comfort her sister then later scaring her ("Did you hear that?") and contradicting himself (Let's wait until morning to see where we can go....minutes pass...let's move we can't stay here waiting). The acting looked natural but when the girl was screaming the male guy was way too calm while he continued to record!!!. They also seemed so unprepared to be camping, what kind of parents would let these two go into some woods, I don't thing they should go to Disneyland either because they would probably get lost. The character's from Blair Witch had a map. Maybe I'm nitpicking. So, imho it was not bad but was kind of boring, and I feel bad saying this. So, if they ever make another movie, I would just say to work on the dialogue.

Not worth it, if you somehow find this film.

This is perhaps the worst film I have ever seen, and no matter what you're thinking, its worse than that. I understand a child wrote, directed, and filmed it--but thats no excuse. Who allowed him to publish it?

I could hire a dog to make a better film, and it would be more eventful and coherent. This is perhaps one of the worst things that's ever happened to me, to the point I've considered sueing for my time.

If something could be violently boring and uninspiring, it would be this "film". It should be removed by the YouTube algorithm.

Warning: Spoilers
It started out and kept being so simple that I didn't even realize it was wrapping around me with a feeling of dread that I could barely keep under control by the end of the picture. It was so subtle and the performances so natural and the characters so vulnerable and identifiable that I was pretty much biting my nails on the edge of my seat at the 50-minute mark. There are familiar elements in the movie witch didn't detract from it at all but made it all the more a reason that it drew me in and it was one of those I want to know what happens I would need to look away but I need to keep watching cuz I don't want to miss anything and this is a perfect example of less-is-more and what was there was in the right proportions and it was just a very amazing and low key efforts that was horrific and entertaining and I just can't say enough good things about this film. You should definitely give it a watch you should definitely own it, and my compliments to all concerned making this movie. I love found footage movies and more specifically found footage horror, I don't think it's a genre that's ever going to be over done or finished, is it at market for it may be glutted with entries right now but the hair-raising standouts like this one, are proof that this genre is as vast as your imagination. Found footage films remind me of the old-time radio shows which I have grounds in it loved dearly, and it's the same Spirit if not the same venue. At least it is to me. Oh and it makes me want to make my own found-footage film! I cannot think of a scarier thing then being in the woods alone away from earshot of everybody. Let alone being in a woods reputed that be haunted or having a legend like that. I love The Blair witch project I thought that was the the fastest 90 minutes I never spent I thought it was maybe 15 minutes by the time it was over I couldn't believe how much time had passed this film in that to me are on the same level of terror in different ways being scared as fun as you're living alone and then it could be fun as long as you leave all the lights on after you watch this movie at least for a couple of nights. I know I did. But begone foot I was lost on a horse trail following a friend who was on horseback and I thought I would just trying to stroll behind her and before I knew it she was out of sight and I thought there was just one trail in Winter we allowed. How wrong I was. jet and it wasn't dark by the time I found my way back but it was about four hours later and I was scared of everything from local legends I remember hearing is a kid, or sumbling across some drifter on a freight train sleeping in the tall grass that I might happen upon. So the venue of the woods and it being haunted right there hook me and the very natural performances were just perfect and made you feel that they were really just everyday people that didn't realize they had gotten in over their heads. And I like that through it all they were worried about each other and that is to me that added to the debt that it was a lot of depth to the characters and it made you very upset at the end extremely upset. about what happened to them or possibly happened that last shot of the underfloor that wet under floor was absolutely spine-tingling. That was what I call scary scary stuff, so if you want to be entertained and scared for a solid hour, definitely check this out. I think I'm talking too much because I'm probably repeating myself so goodbye for now. I hope to see more found-footage horror from all concerned with this movie, The woods. Everybody I wish you a safe and wonderful day and a molto bella serra! Ciao!
