- TriviaThis episode confirms that some of the "Hawaii Five-O" regulars--in this case, Kimee Balmilero (Noelani) and Shawn Mokuahi Garnett (Flippa)--will continue to recur on this series; there's also a reference to Kamekona, though he doesn't appear.
- GoofsLike many times throughout this series, this episode shows why Magnum and Higgins would not have a PI License in Hawai'i. You must also have four years of full-time work in any of the following positions to start your own practice:
- Police officer
- Government-employed investigator at any level (federal, state, county, or city)
- Attorney or law-firm investigator
- Private investigator working under the supervision of a private detective

Dumb & Dumber Investigations?
New clients hire Magnum (Higgins has no private investigator's license), and they never get paid any kind of retainer fee? So they are driving all over Hawaii for free, in a sports car that takes Supreme gas, and gets about 10 miles per gallon? They have no clue who their clients are? Do they even make a copy of the drivers licenses of their clients? They usually don't do a background check on their clients. Magnum does zero due diligence as to the people who hire him. Not only that, but holding out Higgins as a private investigator when she has no license is a fraud on their clients.
On more than one episode, it turns out that Magnum & Higgins are out doing the legwork for villains who want to kill somebody. All the wrongful death lawsuits that should be pending against Magnum & Higgins should keep Robin Masters busy hiring lawyers! What a major lawsuit for negligence and incompetence Magnum should have against him in this episode!
Meanwhile, Detective Katsumoto (Tim Kang), who is a good actor, gets to be Magnum's gopher and police stooge in every episode. Sad to see a good actor in such a demeaning role, covering up for Magnum's criminal activities. Why does Magnum end up violating laws in every episode? Mostly because he is really dumb, and cannot figure out how to do it the right way.
The big scene when the villains get the drop on Magnum and Higgins is that Magnum fights like a girl. Magnum gets tossed all over the place, like a rag doll. Some ex-Navy Seal he is! Higgins (Perdita Weeks) is usually the tougher fighter.
At some point a main character gets shot in the middle of the stomach, and a couple of hours after surgery, they are eating like nothing happened. In the real world, a certain length of the intestines or part of the stomach, would have probably been removed as a result of the gunshot to the abdomen. The gunshot victim would have been on intravenous feeding for many days, not eating snacks right after surgery. Whoever writes for this show has no clue about gunshot wounds, surgery, or medical trauma!
