American Netball
At a little less than one minute long, this film is nothing more than a punctuation mark in the history of cinema and there's nothing in it that can be described as memorable. Once again, the workmanlike Mr. A. E. Weed sets up his camera too far from the action so that he can film every girl taking part in an outdoor basketball game without ever really focusing on the action. This means that, for the most part, we're just watching a bunch of girls milling around in front of the basketball hoop at the far end of the court. A brief flurry of excitement tells us that somebody has scored, and we see a chap in tightly buttoned waistcoat, jacket, and derby hat bounding up to the centre of the pitch to re-start the action. The ball does end up at the nearer section of the court to the camera, but it isn't any more exciting.
