Here Comes the Suns begins with Eureka's mayoral election, and we have three candidates: Vincent, Zoe's boyfriend, and an essential nobody (ok, that was harsh....he is a "don't-think-we've-seen-him-before-or-will-ever-see-him-again guy"). Blend this with a school project gone wrong, Lexie's pregnancy surprise, another layer lifted from the Eva mystery, and a selfless and dedicated sheriff, and the result is a very interesting and busy episode of Eureka that gives a number of characters an opportunity to deepen and develop. Eva in particular has become so much more than harsh piece or work she was in the season opener. She is still a determined and hard-nosed woman, but there is a lot more going on under the facade and the writers have done a very nice job with her unveiling and with this season's arc. It has been a good ride so far. We know more about why she is in Eureka without knowing much at all - which is a surprisingly lot of fun.

Perhaps Alan Moore should get partial writing credit?

"Tomorrow Stories #1"...is the place.
"Jack B. Quick"...is the character.
"Smalltown Stardom"...is the title.
No further details provided to avoid being tagged as a "spoiler"...but this story is from 1999, which way predates the Eureka episode.
And yes, it's a comic book, but so was Batman and Watchmen and V For Vendetta.
And no, it's not a perfect plot match, because Alan Moore didn't invent Eureka, but when I (just) read this particular story, this Eureka episode was the first thing I thought of. Why, it hit me like a ton of bricks!
