The episode still provides a lot of amazing and engaging moments. However, the character designs and some of the animation is just down right terrible. I know that the episode was outsourced to a different studio but and I am guessing that they did the best they could with the amount of time they had to produce this episode but I still feel like the could of made the animation and character designs just a little more consistent.
That I am a manga reader I am able to notice that they had cut out a few little key moments from the manga when adapting this episode. Things like the Miya Twins messing up the minus tempo quick which is a good scene to show the audience making them know that even the amazing Miya Atsumu can't get every set perfect. They cut out the scene where Asahi wins Karasuno their first service ace. This scene also shows the audience Asahi's routine that helps him relief stress. Another cool moment is when Tadashi's jump float teacher (forgot his name) runs to the other side of the gym to hold up the shopping bag. This running scene was very emotional in the manga because we get to see how desperately he wants his student to not be nervous.
I know that they had to cut some of the not so important content out from the first set mainly because this game goes on for over 50 chapters and is the longest game in the series. Even 12 episodes is not enough to fully adapt this match, and its only a 3 setter. Even knowing this is does suck they had to cut it down because the episode doesn't flow quite right and is quickly passed.
