The film is called Blueprint, written and directed by Kirk Shannon-Butts, a Baltimore native and former Fashion Editor at Glamour magazine, and it played the global film festival/market circuit, screening at Newfest, Frameline, Outfest and London Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, as well as the film market at the Cannes Film Festival.
The story from the press release goes… “Bucking all of the gay stereotypes and avoiding lusty homo tricks and trends, Blueprint introduces and tells the refreshing story of Keith and Nathan – two young, intelligent, attractive, African American college freshmen in New York City, who meet one day in a coffee shop near campus and share the rest of the day in little delicate moments, getting to know one another in the chaos of NYC and beyond.”

As part of its ongoing African Diaspora Film Festival (Adff) Spring and Summer Film Series at Teachers College, Columbia University, Adff is presenting the “Love And Society” film series on May 1st and 2nd, a selection of classic, comedy, and urban films that explore the dynamics between the values promoted by societies and individual’s ability to give and receive love.
