- In order to defeat Psycho's army, Harley and Joker need to track down Fables' story book with the Justice League inside.

- Frank the Plant and Chad are sitting on Chad's couch, and Frank recaps the previous episodes and smoking joints. Essentially, Harley needs to free the Justice League from the Book of Fables, and only Joker knows where it is so she's shoved him a vat of acid to cause him to revert to his original self and regain his memories. Frank tells the audience to grab some popcorn and watch.
Harley waits, and eventually Joker out of the acid. Harley helps him out, and Joker laughs hysterically. She slaps him repeatedly and asks where the Book is.
At the mall, Psycho directs the parademons under his control to take Gotham. The parademons swarm across the city, killing everyone in their path. Meanwhile, Psycho has his new sidekick Riddler give him his phone and he calls Darkseid.
Joker says that he should kill Harley for slapping him, and he remembers his life as a normal person. His future girlfriend, Bethany the nurse practitioner, found him, tends to his wounds, and eventually they fell in love. Joker brought her children a puppy, endearing him to them. Joker refuses to help Harley, and Harley says that she isn't giving him a choice. She says that she put a bomb in his brain and has the remote, and Joker caves and says that they're going to Bethany's house.
In the Batcave, Batman uses the city's surveillance system to try and locate the Batplane. He spots Joker at Ace Chemical with Harley, and figures they're responsible for the parademons. Alfred forbids him from "returning" until he disinfects the Batsuit.
At the park, Ivy and Kiteman prepare for their wedding. Kiteman asks if Ivy wants to postpone the nuptials given the parademons attacking Gotham, but she insists that she's ready to move on with her life and leave some things behind.
Joker and Harley go to Bethany's house and Bethany answers the door, training a revolver on them. The villains insist that they're not there to rob Bethany, and Joker describes how they met. He made stories out of the Book and thought they were fairy tales, and didn't realize that they were real. Joker knows that Bethany has never loaded the gun or shot it in her life, and easily takes it away from Bethany. Bethany comes out and slaps Joker, cursing in Spanish, and asks if anything they had was real. Joker tells her that he did kind of enjoy it but he's Joker and he's not going to date a suburban mom.
Bethany gets the book and says that if Joker is too much of a coward to try and get back what they had, he can have the book. She throws it ou5t onto the street, and a passing parademon grabs it and flies off.
That night at the mall, Darkseid finally returns Psycho's call. Psycho demands that Darkseid help him conquer the world now that he's conquered Gotham. The villain talks about how he never grew taller as a child, and the people on the Ferris wheel he wanted to ride fell to their deaths while a young Psycho watched. Darkseid isn't interested, and Riddler listening and tells Psycho that most Apokolips deals are fueled by revenge. Psycho get an idea and offers Darkseid Harley's head, and Darkseid agrees to give Psycho the planet in return for the head of the woman who betrayed him. Once Darkseid hands up, psycho tells a parademon to bring him Harley.
Ivy and Kiteman go to a bridal shop to get Ivy her wedding dress. Kiteman says that Harley should be there, not him, and wonders if Ivy and Harley got into a fight. Ivy insists that they're still friends but have different things to do. Two parademons break in looking for Harley, and they get a piece of glass in Ivy's dress. She's furious that now she's stuck with the dress, and Ivy kills the two parademons with plants and goes to find Psycho and kill him for ruining her wedding.
Harley and Joker follow the Book to a parademon nest, and Harley points out that they're there because Joker pisses off Bethany so she threw the book. Joker admits that he and Bethany had some good times, and taunts Harley by pointing out that she only fell in love with him when he was famous. He wonders if he screwed something good up with him and Bethany, and says that he's thinking about his relationships now that Ivy and Harley have broken up. Harley insists that Ivy didn't feel the same way about her that she felt about Ivy, and that's the end of the story.
The two villains continue on and find the Book next to the sleeping parademon that took it and its mate. Joker talks about how he and Bethany "got" each other, and Harley remembers being with Ivy. Harley says that love is a gamble and people have to fight for it, grabs the Book, and leaves. A parademon cuts off their escape and recognizes Harley. It summons the other parademons and the two villains run, but more parademons cut off their escape.
Harley and Joker manage to kill all the parademons in the first wave, but more parademons come at them. Batman smashes in flying the Batplane, nets the two villains, and flies off. Harley tells Batman that she's trying to stop Psycho and save Gotham, and the Justice League are trapped in the book. Joker says that the real Book is at Bethany's house, and Batman flies there while Joker explains on the way who Bethany is.
At the mall, a parademon tells Psycho what happened. Ivy bursts in and tells Psycho that he screwed with her wedding, and Psycho takes control of her mind.
The Batplane lands in the street near Bethany's house, and Joker finish his explanation to Batman. Joker insists on getting the Book, goes to Bethany's door, and tells her that he can't just stay away from her. He says that he realizes he was missing love, and doesn't want to blow a great thing like Harley did. Joker says that he wants to give their relationship a shot, and Bethany kisses him.
Batman and Harley come over, and Batman tells Bethany that they need the Book. They get it and call in Zatanna, who casts a spell to free the League. Batman tells the Leaguers what happened and they have to take down the parademon army, and the League leaves. Bethany goes to make some coffee, and Joker tells Harley that he has a better reason to kill because he's in love.
Joker asks if Harley is prepared to live with Ivy telling her know, and Harley says that she's prepared for anything. Ivy knocks at the door and when Harley answers it, the mind-controlled Ivy says that she's going to kill Harley.
Frank, watching, raves about the dramatic tension and asks for a chyron, while Chad gets more popcorn.
