The only reason Charam, the street beggar who turned out to be the centerpiece of the film, is even in the film is because the crew was thrown out of the park they were filming in by the police after refusing to pay a bribe. Because they had to switch filming locations, they ran into Charam and his little sister Lina.
The crew was exposed to a variety of different foods while filming including fried tarantula, whole baby sparrows out of the egg, crickets and fried cockroaches.
Director Heather E Connell's niece Rebecca Syas received her first film credit as junior editor on the project.
