- When an enraged gunman takes a hostage in a public square, the team must take drastic action and deal with the consequences.
- Ed Lane, the crack sniper of a Canadian Metropolitan police force's Strategic Response Unit (SRU), is a workaholic, who prefers retirement parties to family events, such as teenage son Clark's birthday concert performance. Today, he has to aim at Goran Tomasic, whose wife Marta taunted him till he killed her and went berserk, taking a bystander hostage yo escape arrest. Ed decides alone what to do when Goran's adult son Petar runs to him. That same day arrives young Royal Army veteran Sam Braddock, the unit's newest member.—KGF Vissers
- An unstable Chechen man seeks out his separated wife, breaks her restraining order by taking her in tow against her will and when she tries to walk away he shoots her in the back. His distraught son follows after him as he heads into a public plaza and takes a blonde woman hostage with a gun at her head. The tactical response team tries to talk him down and he seems about to release the woman but points the gun directly at the sergeant and the sniper is forced to take him out, miraculously avoiding hitting the son instead when he rushes in at the last instant. We see how even a good shoot can cause high stress for the team as they strive for an ever higher level of excellence while on their stated mission to keep the peace.
