ZZ and Me
ctomvelu-118 April 2009
A frozen corpse broken into too many pieces to count has B&B chasing down a bunch of egghead scientists at a Frankenstein-type lab. Radioactive poisoning also figures into the plot. Muhych more interesting is the arrival of Angela's dad, played by one of the ZZ Top boys, who has come to do some mischief to poor Hodgins, for taking advantage of Daddy's Little Girl. Nothing can dissuade the guy, least of all a plea from good old Sweets. The ending, with everyone gathered at their favorite watering hole except for Hodgins is priceless. Without giving it away, let's say Hodgins finds himself far, far away from that watering hole, or any watering hole, for that matter. ZZ Dad gets to play a few licks for all us aging fans.

Enjoyable
Hitchcoc2 February 2023
The plot was just fine. The results were unpredictable, and there was a sort of tongue in cheek things going on. I really enjoyed a few things. First of all, that nutty lab with those four people experimenting with absolutely no discipline at all. It allowed Booth to feel he was in wonderland. Second, Hodgins' experiments. The cannon first and later the bouncing turkey. Then we have Angela's father, the guy from ZZ Top. Hodgins lives in mortal fear because the guy is from Texas. There is also a series of comments by Bones on how stupid Booth is, stated in her inimitable style. Finally, the fate of Hodgins as he rests in the desert.

Who is that guy?

My guess is it's Dusty Hill, one of the other ZZ Tops. It looks like him without his full beard.

Who is the guy???

Another great episode with delicious comedy and quirkiness. Driving me crazy though, is WHO is the guy who agrees with Sweets that Billy Gibbons is "really good"? Uncredited as far as I can see, but looks VERY familiar. If you know, please post.

"That was a lot of quotation marks"

Warning: Spoilers
A puddle of human is found by a model during a bizarre photoshoot. A tiny meteorite leads the team back to the Collar Institute with a building full of horny scientists that would put Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital to shame. After sexual jealousy is ruled out as a motive, it turns out the murderer just didn't want to share credit on a published paper.

Vincent Nigel-Murray and Hodgins are banned by Dr. Saroyan from being in the same room alone with one another after performing an experiment that involved explosives indoors where nobody gets injured. She eventually rescinds the ban so they can perform another experiment wherein Angela gets hit in the face by a whole a$$ flash frozen turkey. I'll take "things that would kill you instantly" for 100, Alex.

Welcome back to my favorite recurring character Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. Everyone tells Hodgins to get out of town in order to save himself from the horrors that lie ahead. Angela does her best to dissuade her dad from taking his revenge. Unfortunately, Hodgins takes a stand and ends up with a permanent reminder of love lost.

Tired of sleazy Angela
Johnny_West27 November 2021
Season 4 it became the Angela Show, with an update on Angela's sex life in every episode. This one has the bonus of Amie Garcia, a scientist at another lab, getting caught by Brennan having sex with another scientist in the lab. Is this what really goes on in the CSI forensic labs of the USA?? Seems like the semen and other juices that are on the lab tables and equipment would compromise testing? Wow.

The ZZ Top connection is fun to see and hear. It is the highlight of the whole show. Even better when Sweets tries to befriend Billy Gibbons and he tells Sweets to go pound sand.
