With all the gameshow formats that ITV have the rights to I think it's an embarrassment that this 'Epic Gameshow' format has to repeat itself, going back over 'Play Your Cards Right', albeit with members of the general public rather than Z list celebs.
It's a move that backfires as Alan Carr didn't seem that comfortable or a good fit for the format on his first outing, let alone at the second attempt.
The late great Sir Bruce Forsyth was able joke with the contestants in a way that didn't feel cruel, and Carr just doesn't have that ability.
It all amounts to a dud outing, and why Carr feels the need right at the end to say "I've been Alan Carr" is beyond me. We've just been watching you for an hour, your name is in the title, we know who you are!
Weak entertainment.
