Michael says that there is no Wikipedia entry for "office robbery statistics." There still isn't, but when you put "Office Robbery Statistics" in the search bar, it redirects you to the Wikipedia entry for this episode.
At one point during the auction, there is an extra that makes a bid and raises his hand. This is the same guy (Stephen Salk, who plays Justin Spitzer) that had Michael steal food from his plate at Benihana's. He also comes out of the elevator outside of the office in another episode.
While speaking privately to Phyllis, Dwight mentions Angela's affinity for Sheetz. Sheetz is an actual set of convenience stores located throughout the Pennsylvania area and headquartered in Altoona, PA. Other scripts translate this line as Angela introducing Dwight to (bed) sheets. "She introduced me to so many things. Pasteurized milk, sheets, monotheism, presents on your birthday, preventative medicine."
The call from Michael to Pam at the beginning is a shout out to the Ricola commercial.
The "Bruce Springsteen" song Michael enters the auction to is actually "The Heart of Rock and Roll" by Huey Lewis and the News. It's from their album "Sports", released in 1983. The album is 7x platinum and has done nearly 10 million in sales since its release.
