The SRU pulls out all the stops to rescue a cop taken hostage on his boat, but soon learn that the captor is his battered wife's older sister.
Police sergeant Pete Fitzhaven's wife Sadie's inconsistent whining and some bruising, although accompanied by soothing denial, convince her over-assertive sister Rebecca Kessfield it's time to put an end to it an any cost. Missing Pete is tracked down to the yacht where Rebecca holds him at gunpoint. While the SRU tries to prevent a bloody outcome, Pete overpowers Rebecca and realizes he needs to stage a plausible defense.
