The final cut was presented as part of the Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival in November of 2019 in NYC at the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Film Center.
The director decided to use music from local band Fantasmes for the soundtrack since he thought it worked perfectly for the film. He met Mario Negrón (one of the founding members of the band) while they taught languages as a side job.
A first version of the film was an official selection of the Puerto Rico Queer Film Fest in 2014.
