It did make me chuckle.

Barry's neighbour Boothroyd is a fitness freak, and leaves Barry feeling a little undermined, there is one challenge that may change all of that though, Karate, with the grand Master, The Finger.

I never thought I'd see Brian Conley appear on Last of The Summer wine, but he is pretty funny here, even if this episode is one of the daftest I have ever seen. Conley does actually look in really good shape here.

It is so absurdly daft and silly, but I couldn't help but chuckle at some of the moments here, it was nice to see Barry as a central part of the story, and not just an add on. However once again it's the trio of Howard, Marina and Pearl that provide the laughs.

Daft, but fun, 7/10.

Not the strongest opening episode

Great to see Brian Conley as the special guest star, but as usual with guest characters, his part is very underwritten.

It's quite a silly episode which doesn't really go any where and disappointingly there's no mention of Smiler, which is a shame considering he was a part of the show for the best part of 2 decades.

Howard and Pearl provide some good laughs.

Enter the Finger

The opener of the 29th series has Brian Conley as fitness fanatic Boothroyd.

He is Barry's new neighbour and Barry really hates him. That takes some doing!

Truly might have the answer to bring Boothroyd down to earth. The tao of Howard.

The martial arts experts who could knock you out with his finger. Even Entwistle is his pupil.

Maybe Howard's finger has met his match with Pearl though.

It is an episode that gives Barry a bigger role. Brian Conley's character is not too far departed from one he used to play in his sketch show.

This was reasonably entertaining with a few laughs as well.
