The day dated June the 3rd 1970, seen during the opening credits, states Sunday, but in fact, fell on a Wednesday.
The Rockland, Maine newspaper dated July the 14th 1902, seen in the opening credits, fell on a Monday and not on a Friday as seen.
Although the setting is to be around Dead River, Maine (the characters point out the region around Machias), the scene where the police and former policeman/investigator George are discussing the whereabouts of the killers, the police cars in the scene are a sheriff's vehicle and a clearly marked Michigan police car - complete with the lower and upper peninsulas displayed on the front quarter panel.
