Final note it ends on is a bit badly pitched. Colin Kaepernick's delivery isn't really good. He's definitely not an actor.

However, the rest was good. Decent performances, it really captures that sense of discovery as a young adult, but discovery of yourself in a positive, beautiful, innocent way. I think Heartstopper depicts something similar to this.

Watched for one of my classes. Decent episode, even if the very last 10 seconds or so don't land on the right note.

Wondering if they shot this digitally and then processed it to look like it was shot on films. The child actors were all very good.

Well done! ✊🏿

First of all, just about anything created and written by Ava DuVernay is going to be great, so I'm glad that she contributed to each episode. But anyway, I love when good old white Amerikkka is exposed! I wasn't surprised to see the rating so low even before the series was aired! The evil ones didn't even watch it and they already had their minds made up! It happens all the time, but who cares about the rating. As long as it makes "them" feel uncomfortable about the truth, so be it.

Almost every Black person who has watched this series can relate to at least one of the incidences illustrated in each episode. "Watch your gear" "Who steals more than his son?" You see, "they" steal all the time, U. S. history has proven that fact. I'm glad Colin is doing what needs to be done, he has shown so much courage. "They" hated Muhammad Ali the same way, and just like Ali, Colin will go down in history as a man who in spite of being blackballed by the NFL, continued to protest against systemic racism and police brutality in this country!

Who else can relate?

Wow! I loved it! Can sure relate to the pain of getting cornrows, sitting on the floor while my sister pulled my head this way and that. Not being able to sleep at night, but going through it cos' of how beautiful it looked.

I like the perspective of seeing Colin reviewing and narrating his own past - it's authentic.

I've only watched episode 1 so far, but looking forward to watching the rest.

Race baiting and offensive stereotypes ruined this

Why did you portray all the white women as you did, Colin? That reflects badly on you. Sorry you see your fellow humans like this. Life surely has done you bad. Oh wait.
