Mary Alice tells us that it has been a long journey for Dave Williams as we see him walking away from his house as he was at the end of last week. She says he remembered all of it and we see his memories: police breaking news of his wife and child's car crash; his running to hospital where his wife and daughter died; him being dragged into a psych ward after his breakdown; his going to a hotel and meeting Edie shortly after his release; his Justice of the Peace wedding to Edie after he learned of her connection to Mike. Mary Alice says Dave was worried that his dream of revenge had been destroyed but that fate intervened as we see Mike stop him and asks what's up. Mike offers his sympathy to Dave's ouster and offers to let him stay at his house since he saved his life. With this, says Mary Alice, Dave's revenge dream had been salvaged.
At 9:02 the next morning Edie started calling friends with the news. The ladies arrive at 9:06. They each try to be supportive in their own way. Edie says she just wants to get lost in work. Susan offers to have Edie rent her house out since she's moving to Riverton to be with Jackson. The ladies then turn their support to Susan much to Edie's chagrin.
Katherine greets Dave who's mowing Mike's lawn. Katherine says Mike is very proud of his yard, especially his rose bushes, which she's often tempted to pilfer a rose from. Dave offers to cut her one, but Katherine declines. Mike comes out and Katherine informs him that Dylan called and is hinting she'd like Katherine to move to Baltimore to be closer to her. Mike is noncommittal in his advice when it's clear Katherine wants him to say she wants her to stay. Annoyed, she rips off one of his roses on her way out, which Dave notices.
Bree is regaling Alex and Andrew about the new house she has bought them when Orson comes down crowing about a new grill he's just bought. He rhapsodizes about its stats. Bree says he was overcharged and needles him about his pathetic negotiating skills. Alex asks her to please stop talking to her husband like that since it reminds him of the way his dad was emasculated. Bree is all excuse me what now? Alex says if she's going to be rude to her husband to not do it in front of him. Bree is, predictably, aghast at being spoken to this way.
Carlos is consoling the girls. They're crying because he's leaving on a business trip. Gaby comes out and says he'll be back tomorrow. The girls are grumpy at her for making him take the job. Carlos promises hel'l be back the next day for dinner. Gaby says they can spend the whole day with mommy and at this news they turn to cry on Carlos again.

Alex and Andrew are leaving their new house with Edie and ask that she makes sure the basement is cleaned out. She says she will. As she's doing this Susan arrives to exchange mail with Edie and follows her downstairs to the basement where she lets the door shut behind her, which promptly locks. She and Edie argue for a few moments - about Susan usurping her moment earlier in the day- before they realize they're trapped in the basement. They bang on the door and call for help.
Gaby tries to get Juanita to bathe. Juanita responds with bratty insolence. Gaby tries to physically drag her to the bathroom but runs out of steam. Juanita smiles smugly, gets up, and heads back to watch the movie Gaby interrupted.
Lynette busts in on her mom looking for Porter. Stella gripes abot how Lynette has treated her and told her she heard Lynette knew and sent Porter away. Lynette pleads with Stella not to take her hate for Lynette out on Porter. Lynette tries to explain about how serious it is. "It sucks to feel powerless doesn't it," says Stella.
Susan is still banging on the basement door saying she was supposed to meet the movers. Edie snorts and calls Susan's decision to move with Jackson stupid, needy, and hilarious. Edie wonders if Susan has never been without a man. Susan says she has. Edie asks when. Susan says she can't remember. Edie begins to make a calendar of all Susan's men.
At the Hodge house, Orson and Bree agree to make love. As they undo the bed she says she thought Alex's reprimand was nonsense. Orson disagrees and says Bree can be tough sometimes. Orson says that as a businesswoman she has to be formidable. She says she doesn't see herself that way. He says not to worry about it and, even though it's her turn, offers to let her be on top
Edie and Susan are still making the calendar and Edie says it's proof Susan can't be happy without a man. She's only really had 41 days single. Edie says it's a cry for help. Susan gets mad and tries to get back at her by calling Edie a tramp. Edie says the difference is she goes after men because she wants them, Susan does because she needs them. She says Susan is weak.
Lynette is crying and driving home and calling Tom. Tom tells her to just hang up and come home. Then on Tom's end we hear her gasp and the tires squeal.
At the hospital Porter and Stella show up looking for Lynette. Stella is blaming herself for the accident. Lynette appears, unscathed, having tricked them into coming. She says she outsmarted her mom. It turns out Tom heard two cars in front of her have an accident. As she thought about how that could've been her she came up with her plan. Porter says he's scared. Lynette says Bob is confident about getting the judge to drop the charges. They convince him and go to whisk him off to the courthouse. Stella says what Lynette did was rotten. Lynette says she learned from the best.
Gaby enters and spies the girls clothes all over the floor. She gives them a count of three to pick them up. They don't. She calls Carlos, who is in a meeting, asks for his help, wanting him to yell at the girls. He says he doesn't have time for this and hangs up.
At the deubt of the new Hodge grill, Mike arrives and says Katherine has a headache and won't be making it. He heads into the test kitchen for a beer and Dave follows him. Dave asks after Katherine and Mike says she might be miffed about the Baltimore conversation. He doesn't want her to go but doesn't want to be the guy that comes between Katherine and her daughter. Dave thought it was because he was still hung oup on Susan. Mike says that's over. Dave wonders if that's really true. Mike says he might be fall in love with Katherine. Dave is surprised. Mike says it didn't hit him until she said she might leave.
Outside Orson is serving dinner. Bree wonders after Dave and Mike and when Andrew offers to go find them she asks him to bring back steak sauce. Orson says it won't be necessary since it's seasoned perfectly. Alex, Bree, and Orson bite into the steaks and it turns out, not so perfect. Orson realizes he's overcooked them and asks Bree her opinion. Bree says she can't say because she doesn't want to upset anyone. Alex realizes Bree won't let his earlier comment go and that she can make her points and still be nice. She says since she nicely bought him a house so he could at least refrain from being rude to her in her own house. He tells her to keep the house and walks off.
Still in the basement, Edie examines jarred pickles as Susan lies on the ground. Edie makes jokes, Susan doesn't laugh. She says maybe she does feel incomplete without a man but she wouldn't trade places with Edie who treats men like tissues. At least, says Susan, what she's looking for is real. Edie scoffs and says there are no happy endings and she knows what men are really like. She talks about her dad leaving her and her mom for another family when she was teenager and how when he came back to pick up his stuff he also stole her horse figurine collection for his "new" daughter. Susan tears up at this and says now she gets why Edie is why she is the way she is. Edie slaps her and says not to psychoanalyze her. Susan says she was trying to be nice and give her a pass for being a slut.
Gaby tells the girls to pick up their toys. Juanita says no. Juanita says she loves Daddy more than mommy. Gaby is hurt, says fine, and goes out to the stoop to cry. A large black man, who has been doing work on the house, walks by and asks what's wrong. She says the kids know how to push her buttons. He says the key is she has to be a bigger monster. She says they're not afraid. He says fear is the cornerstone of good parenting and demonstrates his scary yelling voice. It is so scary, she hires him to come in and yell at the girls. She says daddy sent him. He offers to make them vacuum.
A man finally arrives and lets Edie and Susan out of the basement. Edie asks Susan not to disclose what they talked about and she'll deny it if she does and she'll kill her. Susan says she won't say a word.
Lynette goes to visit Stella and announces the judge threw out the case for lack of evidence. No response from Stella. Lynette saysy she had no choice about putting her mom in this place after she went to Vegas, fell off the wagon, and started falling asleep with a lit cigarette. She says she did it because she loves her. Stella wonders why Lynette doesn't visit then. Lynette says because she's an angry old woman. Stella counters anger may be the only thing keeping her alive. Lynette says Stella's going to die regardless so if she's nice maybe Lynette would visit twice a week and even bring the kids. Stella says she'd like that and wonders how Lynette turned out to be such a good mom. Lynette says she has no idea.
Carlos returns and the girls hug him. He notices that they're folding clothes and he compliments them on helping out mommy. They say the scary man made them do it. Carlos confronts Gaby and tells her not to involve strangers in her parenting. She says she wouldnt have to if he would do it. He is angry that she wants him to work and travel and yell at the kids. She says she just wanted a normal life. He points out that since dad is unhappy at work and mom is at home with screaming kids, she's got one.
Bree confronts Andrew about Alex's overreaction to her and tells him to tell Alex to stop criticizing her. Andrew says that not everyone is her employee, husband, or relative and therefore doesn't have to automatically obey Bree and that if she has a problem to take it up with Alex.
Katherine comes home to a dozen roses on her step with a note that says "don't go." She goes to Mike and gives him a big kiss. Dave looks on from the window, creepily.
The next day Bree confronts Alex in front of the new house. She says she doesn't want to fight and gives him the keys. He says it's going to happen again, they're going to fight and they shouldn't make it worse by living on top of each other. She says she's going to confess something she's never told anyone. She admits that she's changed since her business took off. She's become selfish, impatient, and rude and she doesn't want to be that way. She says she needs someone to call her on her bull and would love it if Alex would be that person. They hug and he calls himself lucky.
Edie goes to visit Dave at Mike's and says, that although she's not happy about him lying to her, she believes what they have is real and she's not ready to throw it away. She says not to tell anyone but she's at the point in her life where she could use a happy ending. He goes to get his stuff.
Susan picks up the phone and calls Jackson. She says nothing's wrong but they need to talk about the move.
Mary Alice tells us that at 5:15 Edie called to tell the girls her husband came home. She never got through to anyone though. Gaby didn't pick up because she was watching the girls take their orders. Lynette was out with Stella laughing and sharing stories and enjoying it. Bree was outside showing her future son-in-law color samples for the house and smiling politely when they disagreed. And Susan didn't answer because she was enjoying a cup of tea and what it was like to be alone.
