A disjointed plot without a superior theme...

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, credit to the people involved in the production of this movie for trying to do what many have not tried that is producing a movie in Malawi. The movie industry is not even existent.

About the movie, you could actually see that it is done on a low budget and the team involved did not do itself justice by not involving at least experienced individuals. The cinematography is the only thing that stands out though it was sometimes overdone or done carelessly; there is a scene with slow motion that has background dragging noises of the actors.

The themes in the movie focus on what Malawi has been experiencing due to bad politicians. However the movie fails to concentrate on a single theme with the others to support it instead it champions all of them at same time which proves a difficult task for the producers to stitch them into a storyline.

There is poor choice of words such as using learners for students, a child called her friend "a dog" when she's supposed to be the good kid. This is in contrast to what the character of Fatsani portrays.

The characters have not been characterised correctly and some of them show that they are amateurs. For example the minister is presented as a thug other than a politician. Meetings between him and the headmaster seem like a drug deal. There is a scene where a thug comes to receive money. This scene shouldn't have made the final movie. At least the thug is scene in another scene as a surveyor.

In summary, the team could've done better by assembling a more experienced team to create a very good piece of art otherwise this is a step backwards in the Malawian movie industry.
