When Clark finds the hard drive hidden in the safe and removes it, the cover of the drive has clearly been removed, exposing the reading arm and disks. The internal components of a hard drive are very sensitive and, if opened up needs to be handled in a dust free clean room otherwise a speck of dust or a bit of moisture could ruin the drive. The ISIS room and safe would be covered in dust and debris, yet Chloe manages to link the drive to her computer and accesses the date without a problem or, apparent concern. She even covers the side with the spinning discs with the palm of her hand as she plugs it in, leaving it vulnerable to the static electricity around her body.
