Just awful

This show is so painfully hard to watch and just goes to show how little EA knows about their own game and the sims community as a whole.

Painful

I think a show like this could have worked, but by episode 3 I've had enough of the hosts and guests. It's like a cooking competition show where the same meal is baked over and over by the same people, every episode. The wardrobe design also needs some help, I've never seen a set of hosts look so uncomfortable in what they are wearing.

EA are CLUELESS
christaphor26 July 2020
The fact that this has even been created in the first place shows the massive disconnect that EA has from their core fanbase. What a waste of time and money

Can't imagine anyone legitimately leaving 10/10. No positives whatsoever

Inconsistent Judging
oakescraft12 August 2020
This shows judges were so incredibly inconsistent with how they determine success vs failure. You could go into this competition show, nail every single part of the challenge, and someone else could win because they interpreted it differently.

Very Design Focused

I thought the design focus of the show was a surprise and I absolutely loved the characters. It's a great cross between twitch and a reality show that you, funny enough, get really engaged in.

Weird Stuff

Warning: Spoilers
This is really odd. The show is ok as far as what they set up but it's only a 4 episode reality show. On top of that the judges seem to constantly get confused about the actual challenge. They told the people to create fashion then say it's about body size. The worst was saying they should make a vehicle with unconventional parts. But during the judging they thought it was create an unconventional vehicle and docked someone for making a vehicle that could exist. The time limits are way too short. Then someone left after 2 episodes. The whole vibe is they were having major production issues and didn't take time to adjust to produce decent content instead of just stress everyone out with unrealistic judging and challenges. Something about this show just feels toxic.

Disappointed, but Hopeful

I was really excited to learn about this concept, as a huge fan of competition shows and The Sims I was greatly looking forward to it. I'm also a huge fan of Kelsey and the Buzzfeed Multiplayer channel. Despite all of these things leaning in favor of the show, I'm extremely disappointed in the execution. BUT! I think with some modifications it could be improved for future seasons. Firstly, I think an elimination in the first episode was absurd, the contestants were still learning and getting used to the format as well as working with a team. Additionally I think the structure of having each individual given either builder, designer, or creator is a ridiculous mechanic, because although yes the simmers might be more inclined in one direction, it invalidates the others' skills in those departments. Next, the expectations are simply set too high for the time limit, it shows that the judges and EA really have no concept of the things that even professional simmers can do, I can most likely correctly assume that the judges couldn't have accomplished the challenges which should never be the case, the contestants were in a better position to be judges honestly. Everyone was CONSTANTLY running low on time which is insane because that should be a shock in a timed competition, not a constant reality. Finally, I think the idea that anxiety and hesitance in presenting the story impacted their eliminations at all is ridiculous, on the spot story telling or presentation should not be a critical role in the competition because that's simply not what the sims is about. I hope some of these things can be changed because I absolutely adore the concept.
