Apparently, the gift shop of the average museum . . .

. . . such as the Getty or the Henry Ford sell off donated exhibits if it turns out that they have duplicates, or if young people lose interest in old stuff. Midway through MY FAIR OLIVE, Popeye--in need of body armor--buys a pot-bellied stove from a Junk Yard Mansion that looks a lot like the Getty. I've been to the Henry Ford a few more times than I've traipsed through Jean Paul's digs, and have had my eye on a few things there should they show up at a future Greenfield Village yard sale. Abe Lincoln's bloody rocker, for instance, probably repels more visitors nowadays than it attracts. Plus they have way too many threshing machines, Model T's, steam engines, locomotives and limousines. If I'm as lucky as Popeye, I may wind up with JFK's final ride.

As anyone who has seen CAMELOT well knows . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . the love of "Guenevere" is the Root of all Evil. Well BEFORE "V. Redgrave" assailed the role of the Nymphomaniac Lady G, "Olive" delivers her spot-on take of this notorious fabled figure during MY FAIR OLIVE. You can virtually hear Olive humming about "kith killing kin for me" as she sets up beaus "Popeye" and "Brutus" for the sort of risky jousting that dooms Sir Lionel, Sir Dinadan, and especially Sir Sagramore in more long-winded versions of this tale. Brutus, of course, fills the role of Johnny-Come-Lately Lancelot Du Lac, with Popeye well cast as King Arthur. As a WIZARD OF OZ Wicked Witch of the West musical motif backs Olive's plaintive wail of "Help, Popeye! That thing in tin is after me!" viewers realize that like her role model, Olive has bitten off more than she can chew. As tempting as it might be for Popeye to shout back "Get thee to a nunnery!" this hen-pecked sailor simply gets mousy Olive a glass of milk to go with her cookie.
