Got hooked halfway through second series
redsteve-694231 October 2021
On episode 14 and completely hooked by the storyline. There are layers of story gradually coming together seen through each of the separate groups. The person to person interludes slow down the action but in the end this adds to the drama. Some scenes are incredibly brutal, perhaps this is portraying the reality if these events ever took place. The theoretical concepts of space and time used as the basis of the story are also fascinating. So a slow burner but in another way completely gripping.

Season 2, Episode 1 - meh.

Warning: Spoilers
***Spoilers ahead***

Was in two minds about series 1 but for most part enjoyed it.

The creatures taking unborn children to the aliens was creepy and the finale was weird and unsettling enough to leave me wanting more - queue the long wait for season 2.

Season 2 drops and so apparently did the budget and the extent of the writer's imagination.

The aliens are human (why!!!) but there's more... they're human and speak with the same regional accents and even though they arrived in spaceships and have walking dog machines they're still using human weapons.

To me this is lazy writing and a poor effort, but I will watch a couple more episodes to see if it picks up (not holding out much hope).

So ridiculous

Hell! I'm French and usually don't watch French series, but I decided to give this one a chance, especially cause I liked the atmosphere.

I was wondering in which direction season 2 would go, and I'm really disappointed.

There's been tons of plot holes and things that didn't make sense in season 1, and they keeep doing the same mistakes in season 2.

I totally agree with the other review, it's totally ridiculous to find out that the "alien" invasion is actually a human invasion, because of some scientist who created a deadly virus. So, what about the music from season 1 and the "first contact"?

I'm done with trying to watch French series, it's not worth it, I'll get back to enjoying UK and US series, at least they have good writers.

Season 2 reboots season 1 with a 5 minute explanation, what a mess
gareth-7544230 May 2021
I actually enjoyed the 1st season of this show, there was a lot that wasn't good about it but for the most part it was interesting, the final episodes ending was intriguing & left viewers on a bit of a cliffhanger, now I honestly didn't expect a 2nd season to go ahead & after watching the 1st episode of season 2 I'm really wishing it didnt, after the finale of season 1 season 2 episode 1 literally takes a few minutes to explain one of the dumbest stupidest reasons why the earth was attacked, fast forward 6 months & it's not aliens just more humans & the human survivors have been fighting the human invaders, I don't know if this was the plan from the beginning or if financial limitations have been the cause but this is literally the worst they could have gone with, it makes very little sense & I imagine the writers were scrambling about trying to come up with something plausible & here it is, the aliens attacked earth because Bill ( Gabriel byrne) was creating a virus to wipe them out, now wait a minute hes doing that because they attacked so why did they attack, they were on a different planet dying from some disease, bill wasn't the cause of that, he didn't know they existed, omg this is getting stupider the more its explained, put simply ; dying alien humans from another world built huge ships flew to earth to attack it & wipe out the human race & by chance there was a human girl with the same dna as the alien humans & they could use her to cure themselves, oh & they didn't bring any guns or clothes so they use the guns from the earth humans & wear their clothes.

Even my cat couldn't write something this stupid.

This is the biggest backtrack I've ever come across, season 1 showed no aliens at all until the final few minutes of the last episode, a single person virtually comatose in what looked like an iron lung, all we were shown was robot dogs hunting & killing people & people trying to survive & now in the very 1st episode six months have passed & the survivors know its humans not aliens, even the French team that's isolated on a mountain know about the aliens, I will b amazed iif this show survives the hate that's coming it's way.
