A mess but somewhat entertaining
zachmetzgers17 December 2021
This season hasn't lived up to the perfection of season 1. The characters are annoying too often and the messages are heavy-handed and aren't showing enough angles about complex social issues. But at least Bradley finally had an episode that made her interesting again. Her freaking out over being "outed" showed a human side to her instead of the entitled brat we saw for the first few episodes.

I still feel like season 2 is missing the mark overall, but I enjoyed this episode even though Alex wasn't in it (and Alex is by far the best character this season).

More Bradley and less woke outbursts please!
gina_gemini22 October 2021
It'd be the perfect show if only the writers could keep themselves from inserting random "woke" talking points throughout every single episode over and over aaaannnndddd ooooovvvvvveeeeerrrrrrrr.

I am still scared if scenes like the "mediocre......" keep popping up it might get unbearable to watch.

News Shows Talk About Political Things
tajhab23 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's funny to see all the whinging in the reviews about a show based on news and current events of the time 2020, as America was steeped in political deception. This episode was on point for what they wanted to address. People were becoming more "woke". The Bradley character was depicted in a way to represent how people with her background are treated in these situations. The fact that conservatives post "it is ruining the show for them" only shows how fragile they truly are. Rather than letting it 'ruin' you, perhaps you could reconsider your perspective? Consider diversity is making the world better and part of what this show is wanting to impress upon the viewers.

The dynamic of Cory acting out of revenge by allowing the exposure of Bradley's assignations was a believable point and ironically showed him to be the true "privileged white guy" expecting do get everything he wants (Bradley) not the character who was accused of being privileged...

The truly disappointing thing with this episode was the complete absence of Alex. I can only imagine Aniston had another obligation at the time. I literally lowered my rating due to this as it will slow the telling of Alex's struggles.

I do feel this series would be best watched binge-style to grasp the subtleties.

Give reese witherspoon her emmy already!
rabeeselmi22 October 2021
Almost everything was bad in the episode except bradley storyline with laura Her acting was so on point and very real.

I hate that the show became about politics rather than a drama show!!

Season one of involved politics but in a very clever way not this season where politics is so forced and promoted and woke agenda.. This season is so cold from actors to the plot.

Everything got messy and pointless.. Mia and stella are very annoying I really cannot stand them.

Witherspoon can act
moviesfilmsreviewsinc16 March 2022
Alex's downward spiral - her upset about the forthcoming tell-all book that will reveal her Mitch hookup, her meltdown that saw her flee from the high profile debate moderator job - is big drama, to be sure, but can also feel stifling, so it's oddly nice to have a chance to let other stories grab the spotlight. Truth be told, Bradley has always been my favorite The Morning Show character and this episode fully reminded me of why. It doesn't hurt that the show finally digs back into the uncomfortable dichotomy at the heart of who she is - she's a person who is both ashamed of and angry at her family, and who wants to escape the trappings of poverty and abuse that generally defines life where she's from. Though there's a moment where it looks as though Cory will come clean about his decision to out Bradley in order to bury the damaging story about Hannah, but he doesn't and you can basically watch any hopes he ever had for a relationship with her wither and die in front of him. That he specifically maneuvered Laura Peterson onto the show for maximum impact is just the icing on the cake of horrors.

A Private Person

Warning: Spoilers
An underwhelming episode here. Bradley and her brother's fight just felt forced and it felt like they tried to make an Emmy moment when the acting wasn't there nor the story.

Brilliant.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was fantastic. Reese Witherspoon moved me to tears multiple times. As a gay man, I sympathized so deeply with her experience of being forcibly outed at a time when she wasn't ready and facing the complexities of how her family would respond. My heart broke for her, but wow, what an incredible arc this character is going through. I can't wait to see what the writers do next. Reese is firing on all cylinders, and Julianna Marguiles really serves as a fantastic addition to this season.

I continue to love how this series plays with morality and asks the viewers to make their own judgements about who to trust or who to root for. What Cory did was not okay, but you can see how much it hurt him. I'm still deciding myself how to feel about that guy, but Billy Crudup brings such nuance to his portrayal that I really can never look away when's he on screen. Stella, Mia, and Yanko's storylines are equally as fascinating to me and I admire the show for not being afraid to address extremely messy topics that we, in real life, are still figuring out how to deal with the right way.

I adore Jennifer Anniston in this show, but strangely, her absent did not leave me wanting in this episode. It just goes to show how incredibly strong the entire ensemble of the The Morning Show is.

To those of you complaining the show is too "woke," do you know what show you're watching? This began as a show challenging sexual harassment and toxic workplace environments. Of course the writers would continue to address other social issues and other forms of oppression, and any viewer too sensitive to deal with the fact that sexism, racism, and homophobia are still rampant issues in our world today is too blinded by their own privilege to see the startling reality surrounding them. Educate yourselves, or stay mad. Just let the rest of us enjoy this excellent and timely piece of art.

Lessons to be learned
BruceWayne328 November 2021
This episode is a great example of how tv makes robots out of people The network really should have their peoples back It's a family It's a tribe But that doesn't always happen They care more about the money.

They should of had the weather mans back!

This episode did not miss Alex/Jennifer Aniston
feargal-9155823 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's the best episode of the show so far. Why? Bizarrely it wasn't constrained by its biggest star, Jennifer Aniston. Her storyline so far this season has been strangely uninteresting and her acting has been actually poor. So. Step forward Reese Witherspoon to save the day with a truly spectacular performance in this episode. She finally admits she's in love with Laura and it takes the actions of Billy Crudup's character and her brother to force her to admit it . A tour de force ms Witherspoon .

Reese Witherspoon can ACT.
julie_simi15 February 2022
This is one of the best episodes of television I've seen this year - could be a one-act play all on its own.

Reese Witherspoon's acting was especially phenomenal.

& it's also a kind of story that doesn't often get told.

Sinking Fast
greg-beaulieu23 October 2021
This episode was yet another mess, with no Jennifer Aniston in sight, Cory feeling down but still being a snake, Chip feeling like a 5th wheel, Yanko still aggravated, and yet more crises to to deal with. We get even more characters parachuted in, like a substitute weatherman, Bradley's brother, and Dave Foley as a retread UBS personality. Of course we still haven't figured out what a bunch of other minor characters are supposed to be doing. Nothing much seems to be progressing or becoming even slightly more clear. It's like a plate of spaghetti that was dropped on the floor. I'm unsure if this thing can be saved.

Reese Witherspoon.

Warning: Spoilers
Her acting here is amazing. Even though I'm not loving this season (especially Laura's character, who is super forced), this episode about Bradley actually worked. I liked her scenes with Cory and her brother in the hotel... It's important we have some more background on her. I really like her character.

And now a message from our message
bobetjo24 October 2021
As other reviewers have pointed out, there is some real forced right-on opinions going on. The conversations are so stilted. No one does speak the way some of the characters do. Even if you agree with most of the opinions, it is annoying to see straw men comments being set up by background characters just to give a character a line.

Setting that aside, this series is needing a plot. Season 1 had undue influence and powerlessness as its theme. That was well worth the watch.

Now we seem to have a mess. Hints that Cory is not perhaps as nice as he seems? A book revelation? These are not plots. For me, Mitch's redemption would be a good place to start. We've had the message about the unacceptable behavior and entitlement. Now viewers need to see a way back for the sinner.

Meandering all over the place
jp-20612 November 2021
This season is meandering all over the place. There's a lack of cohesiveness, the storyline feels like things are just thrown at a writer's wall to feel it will stick, and even my society conscious self is really tired of the over woke tirades going on.

I want to love this show. I loved season one. But season two is just a mess.

Garbage episode
Flubber6923 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Would have given it 1 star but for appearance by Dave Foley. Sure do miss "Newsradio". Sigh.

This episode confirms that I'm done with Season 2. The writing is nothing but more contrived drama around identity politics. Two groups will love it: far left who will lap up the party line wokeness and the far right who will be screaming at their TV for the same reason. Everyone in the middle will just be bored.

Let's make a big deal
Batree24 October 2021
And yet again this shows continues to show its worth about spreading misconceptions and "woe is me, I'm offended". Hollywood is getting more ridiculous with every show. Let's hammer people with what Hollywood thinks should be "right" instead of just letting people be free to make up their own minds.

Why? What's the reason?
sbuhrman-7479812 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show LOST its sense of direction after season 1. I keep sticking through each episode in hopes that some of the redeeming storylines will carry me through, but it's so difficult. The show itself - with how dramatic the end of season 1 was, feels like they needed to TOP that in season 2. Instead of having a solid build up of drama and suspense, they've written each character angry and depressed and make new problems to randomly just pop up.

I feel like Yanko when I'm watching these. What's next? What kind of problem are you going to fabricate and throw at me!? Can Daniel pick a lane to be upset in? He had a strong opinion on Covid 19 until it wasn't convenient anymore and then he had to switch lanes to accusing people of being racist. Then, on this episode, he's.....angry for a second and then fine!?

Cory has lost full control NOT because these problems are hard, but because there's so many of them and they're all mostly dumb rich people issues. Are we not able to stick with one major political or social issue without making it so dramatically about "me me me me". Bradly used to stand up for these types of problems and now she's crying in her dressing room every chance she gets.

Only thing giving this episode a 2 instead of a 1 is the actual familial spat she has with her brother about addiction/ abusive parents/ moving on/ self care.

Woke Broke
parkerposeytso30 October 2021
Oh yah another show sidestepping their way into the "woke" graveyard, it should NOT matter if you are black, Asian, white, purple or gay we all bleed red.. what has happened to people just being people without having to identify as "oppressed" trust me NOBODY in the US is oppressed.. try going to a country outside of the US and let's talk about that..

Trying too hard to stay relevant
kcotto9514 January 2022
This show is sinking fast. Seasons 1 had a great and interesting plot but season 2 is just trying to throw in hot "woke" topics to stay relevant and cater to certain groups of people. Really disappointed. No longer a unique show.

Disappointed
myaallen-4125627 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm getting really tired of this show. I really wanted to like it with Jennifer and Reese but it's so much political propaganda it's getting disappointing.. especially with that lady I don't know her name who is Alex's coworker who's watching over her house treating Chip that way. Why is it okay to treat white men that way when they haven't done anything. He is a nice guy and to make it okay to act like that is not okay and then the whole thing with Bailey and her brother another thing that's super annoying like we're supposed to be okay with someone just sleeping with everybody in town . I'm definitely giving the morning show a four overall so far.
