The Red Cross benefit radio show shown in this short subject prior to Deanna singing took place on June 22, 1940 at Warner Bros. Stage 6 (later renamed Sunset Bronston Studios). Source : original program from the show.
Ths song Deanna sings in this Red Cross short is "The Rose of No-Man's Land", which was written during World War I to homage the Red Cross nurses. Originally a French song, it was written in 1918 as La Rose Sous les Boulets (The Rose Under the Bullets) by Louis Delamarre. The same year an English version with lyrics by Jack Caddigan and James Alexander Brennan was published; this is the one Deanna performs.
