Do not be proud of him
dannylee-7808222 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
1. Killing Sheriff Nix has consequences 2. The Byrds strike a deal with pharma 3. Agent Miller sets up a meeting with Navarro

Lives up to the hype so far. Ozark always showed brilliant writing. Very smooth flow to the events. They don't seem like random events but a chain of events that actually make sense. It sometimes feels like shows like Ozark overdoes their plot and makes it feel convoluted, but I think Ozark finds the perfect balance and treads that road very carefully.

Every actor shines. Ruth (Julia Garner) plays the character perfectly as she slowly turns the Byrds into her enemies while recruiting Jonah.

Brilliant dialogues are all over the place as well. Some hilarious. Some just hit you right in the chest

Great episode so far!

A goat and a cookie jar
bosporan26 April 2022
Great continuation with so much going on, all the characters are embroiled in this dangerous complex game with rising stakes. Some have not yet realised their status in the 'new normal', but clarity is coming. Nix's murder is making life difficult for everyone and the fallout will, no doubt, be a running sore to manage.

Steady progression
tristan_1921 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode progresses the story at a steady pace, without hitting the ground running just yet. We get more stuff with Jonah and Ruth. The moment where Jonah announces his family he plans to launder for Ruth is awesome in the sense it is truly bittersweet.

Maya gets a bigger role here, and the climax of this episode is absolutely nail biting. You won't want to close on this cliffhanger.

There is also an interesting subplot in Wendy trying to get money, and some interesting dilemmas concerning the pharmaceutical world and the effects and consequences of consuming drugs and selling them to people.

Wendy on the Kim Wexler path?
FilmBrat10521 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just from the way things have panned out in this episode and last with Jonah & Wendy, I'm getting the sense that the writers are morphing her into an antagonist. I still side with her, and I don't like the way Jonah is treating her, but narratively I can see her going down a similar path as Kim Wexler from Better Call Saul. I cannot stand Wyatt's character and I'm sensing he's going to die this season, which will be the nail in the coffin for Ruth to kill Darlene. I don't think the tension between Ruth & Darlene will last forever and I could pick up on it immediately from the end of last season. Two alphas working together may seem like a profound move but I think it'll eventually bite both of them in the ass.

Building Tension
UngaroSpinato21 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
My overall vote for this particular episode is 8.9-9.0 Great job from all the casting, especially from Ruth in the restaurant scene... that was kind of heartbreaking too, because she does everything for Wyatt but he's too much Darlene's side. About her, I feel like she's badass as always, but NOW I CAN SEE HER FEAR... I think she'll die soon.

This was a slow-burn episode, and the absence of music takes its part too, but it was still great. The end with Wendy talking, and Maya getting on the car was the real pain of the ep.

Julia Garner's acting is amazing
gedikreverdi22 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ruth's crying by the ashes of his boyfriend in a goat-shaped box was such an impressive scene. She's really a good actor. The nephew is so annoying and dumb that he was going to shoot the new sheriff, too. The Byrds want to find a way to launder the cartel leader. Agent Miller is staying with them and the Byrds are threatening her already.

Netflix knows how to make a show.

Warning: Spoilers
There's a lot going on in Season 4, which is to be expected, but there's also a lot of information to consume. Episode 2 sees a complex game of chess unfold as the Byrdes search for solutions. Episode 2 opens with Ruth in an ornament store; she chooses a glass goat which is supposed to be a cookie jar. She puts Ben's ashes in it and sobs silently. It's a tragic reminder of how much Ruth loved this man. Wendy is furious with Jonah for giving Ben's ashes to Ruth and confronts her. But of course, Ruth wields a shotgun to ward off Wendy, and hateful words are exchanged. With the death of Sheriff Nix, there is a new sheriff in town who goes by the title of Sheriff Guerrero. She questions PI Mel about Nix's disappearance. Afterwards, Darlene introduces herself to the sheriff and attempts to spark a relationship like she did with Nix. Unfortunately for Darlene, Guerrero isn't easily attracted to bribes, and it fails. Darlene worries about her supply network. So, Wendy encourages Clare to meet Marty; using information provided by Jim, Marty breaks down Clare's troubling finances for his pharmaceutical company and offers to fix it. He proposes that they give him a regular supplier of opium raw materials to cut costs and save $300 million ($150 million would go to the Byrde foundation). As another chaotic episode draws to a close, a few important plot developments occur. Javi meets Marty, and together they clean up the sheriff's blood in Helen's house. It's tense as Javi calls Marty untrustworthy, then Omar calls out Marty - Javi listens intently. But things get worse when Sheriff Guerrero arrives, so Javi has to hide. The sheriff can see that Marty is cleaning up and she is curious. At the end of the episode, Maya gets into the cartel car and agrees to meet Omar.

Good except for Jonah's increased involvement
wildblueyonder1 February 2022
I have really enjoyed this show, and this season is no exception, but I am disappointed with how they've ramped up this character's involvement in the show. I mean I get it, part of the show is that they are trying to raise a family while at the same time navigating the cartel....

But I hate it when we're supposed to accept children as anything more than children. Teenagers are generally obnoxious and ignorant and have no idea how the world works - not 'geniuses' who launder money for the cartel at age 14.

I do love the show... but we're asked to take a lot of leaps and not loving this one.

Episode 402
bobcobb30129 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This season does seem more focused than others, but it also feels like we won't get many answers until late in the run.

Not bad TV, but not worthy of the hype tonight.

Don't be hoodwinked
evanbates9028 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a fan of this show, I really am. But this is the most absurd episode I've seen thus far in this series. There isn't one, but several weird left turns.

The first episode had a few nits that I picked at, mainly involving Jonah's motivation(s). This episode on the other hand is acting like an 8/10 episode when it's trying to not let you realize how pretty bad it is.

Almost every scene is bringing something new into the show that wasn't even considered or thought of as potentially possible by the characters. They clearly need to amp things up and move things quicker since this is the last season.

KC mob bosses son: he's considering partnering with Darlene? AND EVEN FURTHER: He's trying to convince his dad to partner fully with her?! She shot his DICK OFF! Why in the hell would he want to partner with her? Did I miss something? The KC mob should be after Darlene for retribution. It's insane writing-like real ground level character motivation stuff is being completely disregarded.

Ruth has a high roller contact in Chicago? Oh and she does heroin to convince him to join in on a drug selling business idea? That was out of nowhere.

This show went from what I thought was fourth gear to like 12th gear. I didn't even know this show had a 12th gear, I thought it was a 6 speed.

So now I'm bogged down trying to pick up the pace with where the show wants me to be.

The FBI agent has completely turned against her morals and is considering meeting with Navarro himself?! This is episode TWO!! What is her philosophy now? How is she so cool headed about this?!

There are so many damn whiplash moments in this episode that from here on out, I expect this show to pick up the pieces from this mess.

It's your last season and you've gotta end it well, and this is not the way to do it.

Ruth ruining the show as usual
LostSoulsLTD19 February 2022
I used to like Ruth but her character is just horribly written. It's impossible to like her , she is a hypocrite and just gets worse scene by scene . I now skip her scenes as there never important anyway . Can't even start with jonah wow , do they want us to hate everyone with no pay off. Also its like people forgot Darlene is a psychopath who cut out a pregnant women's baby and killed her . Just so stupid and hypocritical.
