Very basic intro the the alphabet

If you have seen images of how letters have changed historically you already know more about this topic than the documentary will tell you. It's basically a few letters presented and explained. There is no overall overview here and I for sure wanted them to just take each letter one at a time instead of jumping to kinda random stories related to alfabets.

There are some interesting presentations of old stones and monuments with primitive words on them but often they don't fully explain what they are showing. A female expert presents a plate with some number system yet she mainly just talks about how cool it is and how much she loves it. The number system is never once explained. Then of course they do present a few objects that later became letters so that people could now write with sounds instead of symbols. This small info is actually pretty cool and interesting. It just feels jarring as we jump all over the place and don't really see how the full Latin alfabet took shape.

But they do have some nice scenes of historical artifacts and maps. The doc does look nice. I just wish their talking heads didn't ramble but instead just took us through the history. Okay, you love some object. But that info shouldn't be there over actual useful info. I think the issue is that they don't use 1 single host but rather use 5 different ones. That makes one single message impossible.
