In Romania, the play was staged twice, in different theaters. The second version is directed by Gabriel Pintilei himself, with the same two actors that appear in the film (Iulia Verdes and Cristi Petrescu). It's the reason why Pintilei is credited as "casting director" for the film.
The film had a one-week pre-production period.
There were 18 days of principal photography: 10 full-working days, and 8 more for pick-ups, a couple of exterior shots, POVs, and even some re-shoots.
The elevator that appears in the film is not a sound stage; it's actually a real cargo elevator in a Bucharest theater where Pintilei works (as an actor).
