Pressured by a bet from Horace, Peter takes an aptitude test from Dr. Jerome Lynch (Elliott Reid), along with the rest of the family. Peter comically messes up each part with off-the-wall solutions. When the test results arrive in the mail, Peter is revealed to have a genius score of 174. In actuality, his not-so-flattering "entertainer" 97 score has been mixed with an intellectual 12-year-old boy named Peter Lindley (Rickey Kelman). The results go to Peter's head. He tries to enroll in Oakdell College to master science, but can't as he has no high school diploma. Peter goes to du Pont Manual High School to sign up for adult education classes, but can't commit to the required three nights a week. Mr. Jackson (Frank Behrens) suggests Peter watch the early morning TV program Sunrise Campus- "a series of lectures and courses conducted by top educators". At its conclusion he can obtain his high school diploma through a 90-minute exam. Horace instead wants Peter to help him run his company. A jealous Horace's comical interference may turn against him, however.
A sharper plot than most of the series' uninspired scripts. There's enough comedy throughout this episode to make it a nice offering.
