Erotic Seductions

I am always amused at story lines in softcore film where certain characters seem to screw so many people throughout an entire day. Practically every female character screws at least twice, with Taylor Finn (one of those actors who looks so positively bored for someone getting to bang one chick after another; his multiple sex scenes with Kaylani Lei in Sexually Submissive are proof that he couldn't evoke passion on screen if his life depended on it) getting plenty of action.

The plot sets up a basic premise of two warring (well, war is a harsh term, but they are serious about this "experiment") adults, Carrie (Michelle Maylene) and Jack (Finn), are competing with the notion of whether male or female has the dominant role regarding sexual power. The rest of the film features various couplings engaged in randy behavior.

First, Mark (long-time hardcore star, Barrett Blade, who I have always considered grotesque, but I guess his pecker is large enough to elicit a lot out of the females he bangs) and Carrie have the opening lay. Carrie catches Mark in a passionate encounter with a girl named Ava (celebrated porn starlet, Sasha Grey), overcome with repulsion, she finds herself in the arms of Jack (of course) and they have sex. So Carrie is confused about her situation, not convinced Jack is the man for her (but we know these two will wind up in the final sex scene concluding the film; it's a given). Ava, it seems, must not find Mark a suitable mate because she winds up in the back of a bar/restaurant fooling around with a bartender towards the end of the movie.

A slut (oops, I mean a woman that doesn't want to be tied down to just one man) named Sarah (Tracy), a sort-of/ kind-of friend of Carrie's is found shagging with a stud named Tad (Jeremy Holmes) in her apartment by her beleaguered gal pal. Sarah is one of those friends who offers advice but also is frank and honest, not exactly giving Carrie words of encouragement. You see, Sarah believes Carrie should be Jack's lover (Sarah, after Tad leaves, remains naked under her robe while chatting with Carrie), but this doesn't go over well. Look, Mark slept with another woman and Jack is available to Carrie, yet she is torn between what she wants. I'm not sure why, but that is the case. Funnily enough, not long after her sexual encounter with Tad, Jack arrives to Sarah's apartment looking for Carrie. Sarah tells Jack that Carrie wants nothing to do with him, but she is more than willing to service his desires. Yep, maybe ten minutes has transpired since Tad, and Sarah is already taking a rodding by another man. You just got to love these softcore plots, man.

I must confess that I found this movie rather unerotic due to the absence of passion during the MANY sex scenes. Maylene, pretty expressive usually when she's bedding various men/women, couldn't look less interested in her sexual engagements with Finn, and it seems understandable since he is going through the motions.

Barrett, for whatever reason, always seems to get the most out of the women in his movies—Sasha Grey performs in such an enthusiastic manner, you'd think Barrett was a sex god. Speaking of Grey, I have seen plenty of sex scenes featuring her using all sorts of loud, foul language with the men opposite her, but I must say that she provides more with less in "Erotic Seductions" and I think this is more arousing (or it was to me, someone who finds the incessant use of words describing sexual organs rather tiresome and forced). I love how she takes it anally from behind and looks at Barrett, smiling and acknowledging his abilities as he pulls her hair. I'm not into roughie sex, but a little hair pulling doesn't bother me too much if there isn't an overbearing violent nature to it.

I prefer, and I may be in the minority, softcore style sex scenes because in the hardcore genre there seems to be this sense that the couplings feel they must go over-the-top in getting a bit too chatty and profane while performing. I think this film fails ultimately due to the inability of the lead performers (not necessarily Tracy who tries to put Finn over to no avail) to elicit any passion in their love-making scenes.
