Starts with a bang and devolves into overly sappy ending

The reason I stayed was a show for so long when I gave up on This Is Us in season three it's because whereas that show became a sappy soap opera the show so far avoided it. The opening of this episode was fantastic and it was a perfect picking up where it left off Story but I think they rushed it and there are a lot of moments they skipped in the rush to get Eddie home that frankly could have been perfect for this show. The result was an episode that kind of felt like it skipped the middle, so when they got to an overly sentimental ending, it felt like they hadn't earned it yet. And to me it played as sappy when it should have played romantic and sweet and could have if they'd given it a bit more time to develop say over two or three episodes. In the end I feel like this was not the best season opener of the show's run because of that. I hope season three gets better because at its height this show delivers. And I'd like to see it keep on delivering for a while to come.

Boring, predictable and rushed.

The condition Eddie was in after the accident sounded like a good buildup for a storyline. Him laying on hospital bed without tubes, oxygen or IV when he had been hit by a vehicle, unbelievable. Every stereotypical thought went into this episode, but they didn't pull any of it off. Finished within one episode. The acting was amateur. I stopped watching This is Us and it looks like this is the next one to go.
