I hope the detective that broke the suspect was promoted...if this "a child called your name..." didn't make you cry, I'm not sure what would.Watching the faces on all of the detectives involved gave me chills.

Also, the suspect's (and the victims', in this case) Mom broke my heart, showing just how far a Mother's love can go.She lost so many loved ones, at the hand of her son & yet professed her love & told him not to cry...It was heartbreaking.

This show is one of t-v's best, reaching deep into some very dark psyches & I hope it will continue.

Warning: Spoilers
In any retrospective of the worst of The First 48 - the "bottom" 10 so to speak, but it's a crowded field - this nightmarish crime truly is among the very lowest of the low. I still cannot look at it except at widely spaced intervals - like only once every couple of years, which scrolling through the on-demand list & its dirty name came up, I decided to see it. And wished I hadn't, because no matter how long it's been since the last, the particulars of this senseless slaughter have lost none of their sickmaking impact. Along with the surviving kids' recovery from the worst night of their lives, the best thing about this horror show is that the off the scale sociopath that did it got the chair it so richly deserved - & separately for each victim, not lumped into one sentence. It's an absolutely textbook case of how to deal with the devils wrapped in human skin, no plea bargains or "lesser included offense" crap, no mercy for the mercyless, & most especially of helpless little kids. Those are the very rock bottom dregs of Terran society wherever it is - these just are the US versions. The most heartfelt MTREIP wishes, may their uplifted souls smile down ever on their family, & an equally fervent wish for whatever this was that inflicted such hellish brutality to be sent on its unmerry way downstairs as quickly as possible.
