A great Spanish-influenced preschool show
kpgamingz17 February 2021
Santiago of the Seas is a really good show. I say it myself as it has great role models and in general a pretty awesome show. The reason I didn't give it 10 stars is that the show really lacks educational values which preschool shows really need to keep Karen's happy and not complain on all of the actions and violence.

Overall the show is really good.

Modern Nick Jr is saved!
BoxwoodExpress10 October 2020
This show, from the creators of Dora the Explorer, basically spits in the face of almost every Nick Jr cliche in the past decade, which is one of the many reasons why this show is so great. Let's break it down.

Plot: As we can tell from the very first episode, there's lore and somewhat of an overarching plot to this show from the get-go, unlike shows like Paw Patrol and Shimmer and Shine that jumped on it in season 2.

Characters: The lead isn't white, for once. Thank God. His friends are all people of color as well. While Santiago can seem a bit too perfect, at least he's more bearable than someone like Sunny from Sunny Day. His friends, Tomas and Lorelai are pretty cool as well. Each of them has their own distinct traits so they don't feel like carbon copies of one another. Bonnie Bones is also a pretty fun villain - she's not a petty, scheming adult like Mayor Humdinger, Zeta, or Preston Praxton, but rather a comical schoolyard bully who is relatively harmless since her plans don't work.

Educational Value: Unlike the other shows where they claim to teach social skills but really are 30-minute toy commercials, this show infuses Latino-Caribbean culture. It's somewhat similar to Dora, but this show doesn't feel nearly as patronizing as Dora did. Also, the show doesn't appropriate cultures like Shimmer and Shine did.

Animation and Music: While the animation doesn't look hyper-realistic, it doesn't really have to. It's good enough, at least it doesn't look like plastic. And the soundtrack has a nice mix of pirate rock and Caribbean music.

This show is better than almost every Modern Nick Jr show combined. This show is great along with Butterbean's Cafe, Corn and Peg, Blue's Clues and You, Bubble Guppies, and Paddington.

Literally a copy of another series
skyemmirandatmp6 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I like from this show the animation, and Kiko, but is a copy of other series, if you see the series on English literally you will not see anything, but if you see it for example on spanish you can see some parts very similar that chapters of another series, for example, chapter 4B Caracol Calet, Sinopsis Lorelai goes to home with her friends and discover that the mermaids, the fishes isn't good, and the water takes black color because a villain use oil to extract gold, similar to other chapter series? In part, Take the chapter Save the coral cove, the principal point of the chapter are that the antagonist extract a object from the sea, the parts that aren't similar is the start and the end, now one copy chapter isn't a problem, but the problems appears on specials, un this case halloween special, all series have a different form to celebrate these date, but this a exception: The 2 chapters are copy of other halloween chapters, specially the chapter A that literally are copy and paste, the chapter B are more original, but some parts are copyed, affortunally isn't happened on chrismas special, in resume this show is good only on English language, because the english version have spanish words and it is a good news, in other languages isn't the same.

Add a 3rd season of Santiago of the Seas
ppaul-5243628 August 2023
We witness Santiago's crew have a special map from El Bravo after getting all 7 medallions. Which can lkead them to any place they desire and help people who needs help from faraway lands.

Maybe in season 3 Santiago could first meet an actual ghost pirates who will take back Isla Encanto and rule it. My guess there the villains in season three but this time a child boy as their captain on deck.

So, everyone please we got to renew Santiago of the Seas to have more pirate and Spanish adventures ahead on Nick jr.

Also, right good reviews to have more adventures with Jinx the Jester on Season 3.
