Melancholic Thriller
kboom-310 September 2008
From the fog drifting off the water to the elegiac score of Patrick O'Hearn, The Wheelhouse rocks you calmly on the very same sea it will drown you in.

Outstanding direction, a soundtrack fit for an epic blockbuster, and understated acting, all plunge you into the mystically casual and intriguing world of filmmaker Sean Garland.

This film tackles taboo in a twisted, yet elegant way and keeps you embroiled in the drama from start to finish.

I wasn't expecting much when I heard of The Wheelhouse at the Denver Film Festival, but was completely blown away and pleasantly surprised by the sentiment, the attention to detail and the POWER of this film.

See it.

Incredible short

This was an incredibly atmospheric short film, with a genuine sense of impending doom hanging over it all.

I really liked the cast, and the older gentleman especially had such an expressive face - perfect for the role.

I liked the ending in that it wasn't a run of the mill Hollywood-style denouement. At the same time it didn't feel like a twist for the sake of having a twist, it felt like a natural progression of the story.

I'd highly recommend you seek out this short.
