Very fine cast in World of Dance drama
lor_25 August 2020
There is very little actual dancing in this movie about competition in the dance world, but the substitution of sex where dancing would occur in the narrative is highly effective.

Title refers to two young dancers auditioning to replace Katana Kombat as lead dancer in Marcus London's dance company, after KK threatens to reveal her affair with the boss and is summarily fired. But not before we get to watch the two of them in a hot sex scene.

Gianna Dior and Emily Willis are competing for the top spot, auditioning for company director Ricky Johnson and his dance instructor Molly Stewart. Plenty of sex is presented at every turn.

Veteran cameraman/director Francois Clousot has ideal casting in the two leads, as brunettes Dior and WIllis are distinctive starlets, but by film's end have been styled and dressed to lookalike status, not unlike those beauties of Robert Palmer's classic 1980s music video "Simply Irresistible".

The film climaxes with their catfight turning into lesbian sex and a threesome with boss London, strongly staged. Prior to that, the floor-to-ceiling mirrors of the dance studio add to the force of the sex scenes.

Also notable is redhead Molly Stewart, resembling a young Maitland Ward, who masturbates in the background before getting an impressive lesbian scene herself.
