- Richard M. Wheatley: Detective Stabler
- [Stabler takes a seat opposite Wheatley]
- Richard M. Wheatley: The Pizza's so-so but the coffee is excellent. I took the liberty of ordering you one. I hear Rome turned you into a bit of a coffee snob
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Who'd you hear that from?
- Richard M. Wheatley: Angela was... pretty angry with me after the other night.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Well, maybe you had no business being there.
- Richard M. Wheatley: There you go again, making assumptions about my business. She's refusing to talk to me now. She hasn't spoken to me since I dropped her off at her apartment.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Well, that's what happens when you throw a temper tantrum, I guess.
- Richard M. Wheatley: [chuckles] She may be my ex-wife, detective, but... I still care for her.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Well you're the father of two of her three children, right?
- Richard M. Wheatley: So, you know about Rafiq? Did she tell you that he was killed in a police raid?
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Is that what happened?
- Richard M. Wheatley: Come on. We both know what's going on here. You're using Angie to get to me.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Am I?
- Richard M. Wheatley: This is between us. I don't want her to become a casualty in a dispute between two men.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: You don't want any casualties?
- Richard M. Wheatley: No.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Like my wife?
- Richard M. Wheatley: That was insensitive of me. What I'm trying to say is You can't really trust anything she's telling you about me because, well... she's still very much in love with me.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Why didn't you kill me?
- Richard M. Wheatley: [chuckles as he sips his coffee, then sets it down] Why would I want to kill you Elliot? Then, we wouldn't be enjoying this delicious cup of coffee together
- [Wheatley pushes Stabler's cup of coffee towards him. Stabler pushes the cup back to Wheatley]
- Detective Elliot Stabler: 'Cause I was nuisance. I was interfering with your business in Puglia and you don't like people stepping into your business do you? You exact revenge. You get rid of them.
- Richard M. Wheatley: Well... I certainly try, but not in the way that you're intimating.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: [takes out a photo of Kathy] She was not a vengeful person but she will be the end of you.
- [Stabler stands up to leave]
- Richard M. Wheatley: I'm very sorry for your loss, but stay away from my wife.
- Detective Elliot Stabler: Ex-wife.
- Ellsworth Lee: We are taking a great deal on faith here. If you listen to what my client has to say, pivot, and throw the book at her. You will be wading in fifth amendment waters.
