Hanging by a Thread plays out 4 different perspectives of marriage through a young couple, Brian and Shannon. Over the years all the things unsaid have manifested into insecurities about the other spouse. After nearly a year of counseling with no improvement, they reluctantly agree to have a camera crew document their relationship per the request of their counselor, Dr. Logan. Brian and Shannon's story covers a scope of views ranging from their lives as a sitcom, looking at a lighter outlook of the hardships in marriage, to the hope of a romantic comedy; but with the sweet also comes the bitter. The reality of a documentary brings dramatic factors to the forefront forcing the couple to face issues that aren't so black and white. All of these life genres blend together to play a part in this couple's outcome.
