This was a very well thought out and original film, first one must understand that this is a Psychological Thriller like THE SHINING. The Divine Comedy is used as this films basis as to one is a prisoner in purgatory or the different levels of hell for their earthly vices consisting of the seven deadly sins. Therefore in Lehman's terms if you indulged in lustful deeds during your life, you will be surrounded by unwanted lust for all eternity. This is a movie that gets better the more times you watch it, every time you pick up something new, a clue of shorts to tell the story of Pearson Place. Whether its a journal, a photo, or a set of keys, foreshadowing is inserted to the mind of the viewer. Furthermore when a new clue is discovered in a follow up viewing you're saying to yourself, "isn't that smart, alright I get it." What I liked mostly about this film is the "ghosts" are in human form, unlike other thrillers where the ghosts are mutilated, don't speak, glow a specific color and float. The ghosts in this film are physically attractive and walk around like they're amongst the living. Very good movie to turn out the lights, make a big bowl of popcorn and get out the trusted security blanket, you may need to cover up for certain parts.
