This production featured two of the actors from the 1948 stage production, Alan Tilvern and Seymour Green, in the same roles.
The play was mentioned in an unbroadcast programme junction mock-up compiled for senior executives inspecting the on-screen look of the BBC Television Service. Over a caption for the production, continuity announcer Sylvia Peters said: "Our play, "Siding 273", follows immediately after the boxing at a quarter to nine, and will last for half an hour. The part of Hamilton Dyce will be played by John Humphries, and not by Harry Truman, who is indisposed."
